Overview

The new MINI Countryman is the largest model that MINI has ever produced and is the first to offer four-wheel drive to the UK market. The MINI Countryman is now the fourth model in the MINI family adding to the Hatch, Convertible and Clubman.

This new MINI Countryman offers MINI drivers the opportunity of retaining the MINI brand as their needs change as it offers much more space. It is 398mm longer than the Hatch and offers 190 litres more luggage capacity. It is also 316mm wider and 170mm higher too and has four-wide opening doors with passenger capacity for five adults. If you only want four-seats you can specify this option at no cost.

Engine Options

At launch in September, the Countryman range will offer three petrol and two diesel models, as well as two ALL4 all-wheel drive models (the Cooper D ALL4 and Cooper S ALL4). The petrol units are the new 1.6-litre units already in the Hatch, Convertible and Clubman models and the diesels are shared as well with the rest of the range.

Inside the Countryman

Inside, the Countryman is all about comfort, practicality and innovation. The four wide-opening doors, high–opening rear hatch makes it easy to get into and also to load. The additional boot space of 350 litres is generous and with the rear seats folded flat, this increases to 1,170 litres.

The sports seats grip the driver and passengers in comfort and of course you have the trademark central speedometer and funky switch packs as well. The MINI Central Rail system runs from the front to the rear and offers you all kinds of options for storage boxes, cupholders, power chargers, music players and mobile phones.

The MINI Countryman range is available in 11 exterior colours and 8 interior trims and with its much larger capacity and size, it should encourage traditional MINI drivers to stick with the brand, rather than choosing another manufacturer, when they need more space.
