ACFO - Association of Car Fleet Operators
ACFO (Association of Car Fleet Operators) has been helping UK fleet operators since the 1970s to improve their fleet operations through best practise sharing. Their target market is any company or organisation, that runs a fleet of cars or vans to provide business travel both to employees or via "grey fleet" (using the employee's own car for business).
They offer advice on a wide range of issues affecting fleet, whether that be duty of care, fuel efficiencies, selecting new suppliers, Human Resource issues, Employee Car Ownership Schemes (ECOS), advice on CO2 emissions, setting up a company vehicle fleet policy and much more.
When running a small business, the complex legislation surrounding fleet operation is hard to keep a handle on and membership of ACFO will enable you to benefit from a wealth of knowledge and expertise from established UK fleet managers.
The ACFO organisation operates at two main levels - regional and national with nine regions across the UK for members to meet and discuss fleet issues with other members.
On a national basis the ACFO Directors will meet regularly with government agencies and departments i.e. HM Treasury and also the DVLA and DfT to consult and shape future legislation.
