“Tour of Britain” cycle race partners with Honda
Honda (UK) has become the official car partner of the Tour Britain and will provide 40 support cars to the race organisers, SweetSpot. The Tour of Britain is the professional cycle race which attracts over a million spectators every year. World class riders will be competing in the event which kicks off in Yorkshire on the 12th September and ends in central London on the 19th September 2009.
The models Honda (UK) are supplying will include Civics, CR-V’s and the new Honda Insight hybrid car and will be used for routing, planning, marketing and during the actual cycle event.
Alastair Grant, The Tour of Britain’s Commercial Manager said, “We are thrilled to have Honda on board and look forward to working with them closely. Cycling by its very nature is a green, environmentally friendly sport and mode of transport and the official race cars provided by Honda will be a mix of both British-manufactured and petrol-electric hybrid vehicles, which has great synergy with our aspirations for the race and its environmental credentials”.
