ASTON MARTIN V12 COMPETES AT SHELSLEY WALSH HILL CLIMB
A near production standard Aston Martin V12 Vantage ,which won at Nurburgring in May, will compete at the Shelsley Walsh National Hill Climb Festival, near Worcestershire, on the 15th and 16th August 2009. The course is 1,000 yards (914m) in length and is no more than 12 feet (3.66m) wide at its narrowest with steep climbs rising to 328 feet (100m). The Shelsley Walsh National Hill Climb attracts in excess of 200 competitors, 30,000 spectators and is run by The Midland Automobile Club.
The V12 Vantage will be drive by motoring journalists Richard Meaden and Matt Prior from Autocar magazine. Aston Martin’s Head of Motorsport, David King said, “The brief but daunting challenge of the Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb is a complete contrast to the Nurburgring 24 hour race where the V12 recently took class victory and as such we are not expecting to beat the hill climb specialists”.
The V12 Vantage is based on the V8 Vantage and the production version features a 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510bhp, reaching 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 190mph.
