NEW SUPERCHARGED AUDI S5 CABRIOLET LAUNCHED
Audi S5 Cabriolet
Audi has added a supercharged S5 flagship Cabriolet model to the A5 range, offering V6 TFSI turbo-charged power to maximise efficiencies, but not at the expense of diluting power. The new Audi S5 replaces the S4 Cabriolet and will be available in October. The car car sprints from 0-62mph in 5.6 seconds, has a limited top speed of 155mph and comes with a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission as standard.
The soft-top acoustic hood has additional insulating layers to reduce external noise intrusion into the cabin, opening in 15 seconds and retracting in just 17 seconds, at speeds up to 31mph. Roof up or down the Audi S5 is capable of carrying four adults in comfort and has a best-in-class luggage capacity of 380 litres, offering good accomodation for luggage as well. This is only slightly reduced to 320 litres in topless mode.
Co2g/km emissions are 224g/km and the car offers fuel consumption up to 29.1mpg with the four-wheel drive technology providing great stability. The “S” sports suspension gives the quattro system and sport differential optimum conditions in which to excel and lowers the S4 Cabriolet body to within millimetres of the 19-inch 5 parallel spoke alloy wheels.
Add aluminium-look door mirrors, xenon headlights with LED daytime running lights, rear LED lamps, special “S” front and rear styling treatments and black painted brake callipers bearing the S5 logo and you certainly have a car that stands out from the crowd.
