Fiat has updated the Fiat 500 with a powerful new 1.3-litre 16-valve MultiJet diesel engine, with 95bhp now on tap. The car also incorporates eco:Drive and Start&Stop technology, improving the combined mpg to 72.4 (was 67.3 in the previous model) and CO2 emissions are also down to 104g/km (from 110g/km). The car accelerates from 0-62mph in 10.7 seconds (was 12.5) and now has a top speed of 112mph (from 103 mph) offering greater driving flexibility.
Andrew Humberstone, managing director Fiat Automobiles UK Ltd said,”This remarkable new diesel engine will add even greater excitement to the fantastic 500 range. In fact, with greater fuel economy and lower emissions, everyone will benefit from this new variant”. Fiat contract hire prices on the new model should be loaded shortly.
