Citroen Berlingo

Citroen has confirmed that from October, all Citroen Berlingo panel van production van models,  powered by Euro 1 1.6 HDi 75hp and 90hp diesel engines, will benefit from better fuel economy and lower CO2 emissions. Berlingo vans produced from October 2010 with the 1.6HDi 75hp engine will see CO2 emissions reduce to 147g/km from 153g/km. The 1.6HDi 90hp engine’s CO2 emissions will fall from 153g/km to 149g/km. Combined fuel economy also improves to 49.6mpg on the 1.6HDi 75hp and 50.4 on the 90hp unit.

Robert Handyside, Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager commented,”Citroen continues to refine its Euro 4 engines to ensure its LCV customers benefit from fuel efficiency gains and emissions reductions. These latest changes, which are being introduced without any cost penalty, will ensure that the Berlingo maintains its position as one of the UK’s best-selling small vans”. Skoda GreenLine technology

Skoda Auto is unveiling their second-generation GreenLine models at the 2010 Paris International Motor Show with the Yeti crossover and Superb Estate enjoying world premiere’s of the new technology. The new second generation Skoda GreenLine models now offer a start-stop system and braking energy recuperation.

The updates to the Skoda range have significantly increased fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions, with the Fabia GreenLine and Fabia Estate GreenLine offering a remarkable 83.1 combined mpg and CO2 emissions of just 89g/km. The Roomster, their compact MPV, has a fuel consumption of 67.3 combined mpg, with CO2 emissions at 109g/km, which is among the best in its class.

The Skoda Octavia is available in both hatchback and estate, with the hatchback returning 74.3 combined mpg and CO2 emissions of 99g/km while the estate offers 67.3 combined mpg and CO2 emissions at 109g/km. The Yeti GreenLine remains a very agile car so performance is not compromised, yet still returns 61.4 combined mpg and CO2 emissions of 119g/km. The Skoda Superb GreenLine option in the saloon and the estate both have a combined mpg of 64.2 and CO2 emissions of 114g/km. Skoda now offers GreenLine options across eight versions of their model range and Skoda vehicle leasing prices on the new models should be on the site shortly.

Range Rover Sports

The Range Rover Sports has been awarded the “Best All-Wheel-Drive Towcar over 1800kgs” at the 2011 Caravan Club‘s Towcar of the Year Awards. The new Range Rover Sport has recently been comprehensively updated with a new 3.0-litre diesel engine and this new unit really impressed the judges.

It was up against other models like the Honda CR-V, Toyota Land Cruiser and the Hyundai Santa Fe and the rigorous set of tests were conducted at Millbrook Proving Ground, in Bedfordshire. Driving Judge, Clive White of The Caravan Club said: “How do you persuade over 2.5-tonnes of 4×4, plus a caravan to perform like a sports grand tourer? Answer: 3.0-litres of pokey diesel mated to a pretty handy six-speed auto box and some useful suspension trickery, not forgetting AWD from the 4WD experts”. The DVLA Personalised Registrations department is holding their next three-day autumn auction at the Rudding Park Hotel, near Harrogate from Tuesday the 5th October. There will be a great selection of plates on sale with 1,500 available, with prices to suit any budget.

The star plate is likely to be 10 0, which has a reserve of £10,000 however many other prices are much affordable starting from £250. The final sum paid comprises the winning amount, auctioneers commission, 17.5% VAT and the £80 transfer fee.

The Volkswagen Golf Match 2.0-litre TDI 140 PS hatchback has been named the winner of the £16,000- £20,000 price category in the 2011 Caravan Club Awards, retaining the title from last year.

The Golf was praised by the ten-strong panel of judges for its excellent performance in rigorous towing tests conducted at the Millbrook Testing Ground in Bedfordshire. The judges said,”It romps of the line, before you know it you’ve passed 70 mph and the engine is still offering more. On the hill circuit it snicked through the hairpins and off-camber downhill bends like it was on a roller-coaster’s rails”.

Infiniti Performance Line G Cabrio Concept

The Paris Motor Show will be the showcase for Infiniti, the luxury Japanese car manufacturer, in unveiling their Infiniti Performance Line G cabrio concept four-seater coupe-cabriolet. This stunning new car is resplendent in new Malbec Black, a pearlescent black with red hints and Monaco red leather interior, all finished off in the finest craftsmanship.

The cars boasts new 19-inch slit-rim 7-spoke graphite finish alloy wheels, a new bumper section and blacked out grille and headlight surrounds. Powering the car is a 3.7-litre V6 boasting 338PS and peak power is reached at 7000 to 7400 rpm. The car has a seven-speed automatic transmission and reaches 0-100 km/h is under 6 seconds and onto a top speed of 270km/h.

Infiniti interior is in red leather

The sculptured side sill extensions work, with the bigger wheels, accentuates the sporting nature of this car and it certainly looks as good with the three-piece  roof up or down. A body-coloured bootlid spoiler completes the look at the rear and let’s hope this car is released into production soon. All other Infiniti models are available now on business car leasing.

Interior detail of GTC Paris

Vauxhall has released interior images of the new GTC Paris, which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October this year.

The detailing inside the car includes driver’s seats trimmed in red with black highlights, while the front passenger’s seat has black trim with red highlights.

Each of the bucket seats in the front are bespoke to the GTC Paris and offers aggressively shaped contours to complement the car’s sporting look.

There is a small black leather steering wheel with metal inserts and on the dashboard, Vauxhall’s “wing” and “blade” motifs can be seen.

The new GTC Paris has been designed by Mark Adam’s design team and the concept has radical lines, yet is still close to a possible production model. The concept has been described by Mark as “bold, pure and iconic” and on these pictures you would have to agree with him. The GTC Paris also gives you a clue as to what the new 3-door Astra might look like as well.

new Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 185ps

Audi has announced that the punchy Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 185PS hatchback is set to be launched at the Paris Motor Show between the 2nd and 17th October, with UK orders being taken from late 2010.  This eagerly awaited flagship model has S tronic twin-clutch transmission and S line specification as standard, plus pretty impressive performance  figures too.

The car will reach 0-62mph in just 6.9 seconds, has a top speed of 141mph (where permitted), yet still returns 47.9 combined mpg and emits 139g/km of CO2 emissions. It employs both supercharging for low range boosting at around 1500rpm to increase thrust and disengaging at around 2,400rpm, with the turbocharger kicking in at 3,500rpm.

In addition to the S line exterior treatment you also get a generous level of other equipment, such as 17-inch alloy wheels, part-leathered sports seats, air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors, Bluetooth mobile preparation, Driver’s Information System and a six-speaker single CD audio system with iPod connection. Although this new model is not on the site currently, all other Audi A1 car leasing prices on the rest of the range can be found now.
