Vauxhall announces that new Ampera will cost under £30K when launched
Following the Government’s recent announcement of the £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant, Vauxhall has also confirmed that their revolutionary Ampera Extended-Range Electric Vehicle (E-REV), will cost under £30K when launched in 2012, coming in at around £28,995.
The Ampera has a range of 50 miles on battery power but when a longer journey is required, Ampera’s range-extender engine/generator produces electricity on board and extends the range by 310 miles, giving the car a total range of around 360 miles without the need for charging. A full charge for the Ampera can be achieved in less than four hours via a domestic 240v electricity socket at an average cost of around £1, depending on the tarif.
This unique car from Vauxhall is now a reality for many families and Vauxhall is also offering an opportunity to reserve and pre-order your Ampera for £150. This is a fully refundable reservation fee however it guarantees you access to exclusive events and opportunities in the build up to the launch. There is no commitment to purchase.
