Vauxhall offers eight Corsa models to beat the London Congestion Charge
With new rules coming into effect regarding the London Congestion Charge, Vauxhall has eight Corsa models which meet the criteria of CC exemption, as they all emit less than 100g/km of CO2 and have Euro-5 compliant engines. The Greener Vehicle Discount (GVD) replaces the old Alternative Fuel Discount, which previously favoured hybrid vehicles. To also qualify for the CC exemption you will need to register with TfL and pay an annual registration fee per vehicle.
The eight Vauxhall “Congestion Charge (CC) Beaters” start with the Corsa 1.3 CDTi ecoFLEX Start/Stop 3-door S model which emits only 94g/km of CO2 and returns 78.5 combined mpg. There are also seven more ecoFLEX Corsa models available in different trims and in five-door versions too.
Duncan Aldred, Managing Director of Vauxhall, said,” Not only do our Corsa ecoFLEX models ease the pain of ever increasing fuel costs, but some models are now set to save London commuters even more expense. We also welcome Boris Johnson’s announcement that electric vehicles will be eligible for GVD, which will include our Ampera E-REV when it goes on sale in early 2012″.
