SsangYong Motor UK is the new name for the UK importer of SsangYong cars as the rights are acquired by Bassadone Automotove Group, from Koelliker UK. This news is on the back of the 70% share acquisition of SsanyYong in Korea by Indian engineering conglomerate Mahindra & Mahnidra and the future now looks very secure for the company. All employees of Koelliker UK will transfer to the new business with immediate effect and the launch of the new Korando can proceed without delay, plus the present network of 50 dealers will be expanded to 75.
Paul Williams, MD of the existing UK importer will be staying with the business and he said,”This is superb news for our dealers and customers who have been so loyal to the brand. Shipments of the new Korando, as well as 2012 Rexton and Rodius models will begin to arrive within the next few weeks”. SsangYong car leasing is also on the site now.
