Toyota 2012 model year Toyota Hilux pick-up

Toyota has updated the Hilux pick-up with a new look for the 2012 model year featuring a new front end, new interior styling, which is more “car-like”, and fitting diesel particulate filters (DPFs) to both engines on offer, to comply with Euro 5 emissions standards.

The “indestructible” Hilux pick-up gets a new bonnet, radiator grille, headlamps, bumper, plus new wheel designs and new side bars for the top-of-the-range Hilux Invincible. Inside there is a new upper dashboard design and instrument cluster and the quality and the feel of the cabin has been improved in uniform dark finishes and new chrome surround to the binnacle (Invincible only).

Toyota has also fitted the new Toyota Touch multi-media unit with a full colour 6.1-inch touchscreen, which is fitted as standard to the HL3 and Invincible models and this comes with Bluetooth and a USB port for your MP3 player.

The 2012 model year carries forward the 142bhp 2.5 D-4D and 169bhp 3.0 D-4D diesel engines and both now comply with Euro 5 light commercial vehicle emissions standards, thanks to the adoption of a diesel particulate filter(DPF).

CO2 emissions in the 2.5 D-4D (Double Cab) have now been reduced to 194g/km and fuel consumption has also been improved to 38.7. The 3.0 D-4D Double Cab automatic CO2 emissions are 227g/km (manual 203g/km) and fuel consumption improves to 32.8 (manual 36.7mpg).

The grade line-up consists of HL2, HL3 and Invincible with a choice of single, extra and double cab bodystyles and the standard five-speed manual transmission and optional five-speed automatic for the 3.0 D-4D engine (exclusive to the Invincible) are retained as well. The 2012 Hilux pick-up goes on sale in the UK in October and we should be loading Toyota Hilux contract hire prices shortly.
