Alfa 8C Spider
A Top Gear panel consisting of TV, magazine and online teams, spanning 24 international editions, has just announced who they have awarded the title of “Most Beautiful Car of the Year” to. This award recognises the most innovative and exciting cars that have been launched over the last twelve months and the winner is a real beauty.
The Alfa Romeo’s stunning Alfa 8C Spider Supercar was described as “perfection” by the Top Gear team. The 8C’s good looks are in a class of their own however the real beauty of the car lies beneath the bonnet. Powered by a responsive 4.7-litre V8 engine this car produces an awesome 450BHP channelled through a 6-speed F1-style paddle shift gearbox to the rear wheels. This produces enough power to take this supercar from 0-62mph in only 4.5 seconds and onto a top speed (where permitted) of 181mph.
Only 35 8C Spiders are destined for the UK with 500 being produced to satisfy worldwide demand. Each car costs £174,000 so probably beyond the budget for most company car drivers! However the good news is that the other models in the Alfa Romeo line up, the MiTo and Alfa Giulietta have taken their inspiration from this car. Alfa Romeo MiTo contract hire prices are available now and the Giulietta will be on the site in 2010.
