Aston Martin Cygnet

Aston Martin has entered two Cygnets into the fifth annual Bridgestone Eco-Rally which starts tomorrow at Broad Street in London at 10.00 A.M. and finishes at 14.30 P.M. The rally showcases the world’s best eco-friendly vehicles and the hand-crafted Cygnet is a bespoke, exclusive Aston Martin in small package, offering CO2 emissions of 116g/km and fuel economy of 56.5mpg. 

One the Cygnets is in Seychelles Blue which is the paint colour of the Aston Martin DB6 Mark II Volante recently driven by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their wedding day. In addition to the two formal entries there will also be a third Cygnet supporting the two entrants, which is in eye-catching “Flouro Orange”. Darren Martin from Aston Martin, said,”I have been a fan of Cygnet from the start. It’s a great city car, easy to manoeuvre and park and a lof ot fun to drive”.

Aston Martin and the Parisian fashion authority, colette, have joined forces to produce a new limited edition “Cygnette & colette” city car with only 14 examples of this hand-built car being produced. This striking limited edition comes in Lightning Silver paint with exclusive colette blue styling details.

These include a race collection inspired front bumper and bonnet livery, mirror caps and diamond turned road wheels. This exclusive limited edition Aston Martin features a Bitter Chocolate themed interior with inspiration taking from colette’s mascot Oscar, the chocolate-brown Labrador.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato

Aston Martin is unveiling the stunning V12 Zagato at the Villa D’Este Concours on the shores of Lake Como today. This new interpretation of the iconic DB4GT Zagato is also set to compete at the Nurburgring 24 hour race on the 25th-26th June.

The beautiful and muscular design is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine producing 510bhp and has been honed for pure driving enjoyment.

Work on the car began in 2010 between Aston Martin and Zagato where sketches incorporating the DNA of both companies were reviewed before the final go ahead was given.

Aston Martin has opened the doors to its first dealership in India with the opening of a new showroom in Mumbai. They are working in partnership with Performance Cars (a division of Infinity Cars Pvt Ltd), a company that has been working in the Indian luxury car market for several years.

Aston Martin enthusiasts in India will now be able to see and test drive various models from the entire range of V8 Vantage Coupe and Roadster, V12 Vantage, DB9 Coupe and Volante, DBC Coupe and Volante, Rapide, V8 Vantage S and the new Virage as well.

Baron's Jaguar classic car sale

The Barons’ Jaguar Heritage sale is being held at Sandown Park, the horse racecourse in Esher, on the 19th April 2011. There will be an impressive range of Jaguar classic cars for sale, including a 1948 3.5-litre drophead coupe (estimate £95,000-£125,000) and a unique 1959 MKIX V12 6.0 XJRS saloon car (estimate £50,000-£60,000).

There are also five E-Type roadsters entered in the sale including a bright red 1973 V12 S3 (estimate £38,000-£45,000), a white 1975 V12 S3 (£41,000-£45,000), a 1969 S2 4.2 2+2 (£16,5000-£18000) and two E-Types in primrose to choose from as well.

iPhone app

The iconic British sports car manufacturer, Aston Martin, has launched a free iPhone app which explores the company’s heritage, manufacturing and technical innovation. The new Aston Martin “Explore” app was developed alongside Aston Martin’s design and engineering teams and has been designed to reflect the unique approach of the company.

There is a completely authentic tour of the company’s UK headquarters at Gaydon, including the design and the manufacturing facilities, with access to places never seen before plus various images and sound clips. The app also features an accurate accelerometer and real life content, such as the sounds of from the entire model line-up, including the DB9 and Vantage. New BMW X3 20d xDrive M Sport

The all-new BMW X3 range is set to be enhanced with an M Sport specification to enhance its sporting looks and goes on sale in March 2011, with BMW prices announced at a later date. The M Sport specification includes 18-inch star-spoke M alloy wheels, chrome plated door sill finishers with M designation, High-gloss Shadowline exterior trim for the window surrounds, M Sport multi-function steering wheel, Sports seats and Anthractite headlining.

In addition, BMW has beaten off competition from the likes of Porsche and Aston Martin with the BMW 1 Series Coupe scooping the honour of Best Coupe in the annual What Car ? Reader Awards.  The 1 Series Coupe also came out on top as Best Car Overall and was praised for its solid build quality, economy and dynamics.

Salon Prive

The Salon Prive, the collection of Europe’s largest collection of classic and modern super and luxury cars, is close to selling out all its tickets with only 100 remaining for the Supercar Day (Wednesday the 21st July) and Concours d’Elegance Day (Friday 23rd July).

The latest new cars from specialist sports cars to the finest luxury marques will grace the lawns at London’s Hurlingham Club with brands such as Audi, Lexus, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Maserati  and Aston Martin on show.

The Bromley Pageant of Motoring will be held at Norman Park, Bromley, on Sunday the 13th June with celebrations for the centenary of the Alfa Romeo and the 75th anniversary of the Aston Martin Owners Club.

The Pageant is a one-day extravaganza of classic cars, bikes, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, stationary engines and much more, with exotic sports cars through to thoroughbreds on show. So if you fancy a looking at Morris to Porsches, Mini’s to Ferraris, or Triumphs to Jaguars plus plenty of American Muscle then it could be a great day out.
