Audi A4 gets the “E” treatment and is even more economical

Audi A4 2.0 TDie

Audi A4 2.0 TDie

The new Audi A4 2.0-litre TDie joins the range alongside the three existing (and continuing) 2.0-litre TDi variants (120PS, 143PS and 170PS). This new model employs the very latest efficiency measures to provide an impressive 61.4 combined mpg and only 120g/km CO2 emissions.

Powered by the punchy 136PS engine, first seen in the Audi A6 2.0 TDie, this economical Audi powers from 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 143mph (where legally allowed). The twin turbo-charged high pressure common rail diesel engine, employs the energy efficient start-stop recuperation system, saving approximately 5g/km in CO2 emissions. The start-stop system cuts power at idle when the clutch is released and the gear lever is in its neutral position. It will then re-start in just two-tenths of a second when the clutch is depressed. This functionality can be deactivated, if required, at the touch of a button.

The Audi A4 2.0 TDie will be available in Standard and SE trim levels, both of which have electronic climate control, alloy wheels (16-inch for the Standard model and 17-inch for the SE), CD audio system and electric front windows. Audi car leasing prices are available on all the range now with prices on the new model coming soon. The new car is likely to be available by October 2009.

Audi secures its fourth Thatcham award

Audi A5 Cabriolet

Audi has won fourth overall in the “Manufacturer Award” in the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards, presented by Thatcham, on Wednesday the 17th June. Thatcham is the leading authority in vehicle security and has been assessing the theft protection standards of vehicles for over ten years and uses a New Vehicle Security Ratings (NVSR) star rating system.

The A4 range was voted most secure in the compact executive class, the Audi S8 was best in the performance car class and the Audi A5 Cabriolet wins through in open-top class. The Audi brand offers more ranges in which every variant has a achieved a five star rating for “theft of” security and of at least four stars for “theft from” security than any other entrant.

Jeremy Hicks, Director of Audi UK said ”The fact that Audi security has come to the fore on so many successive occasions really is a ringing endorsement of the lengths to which Audi’s AG security team has gone to guard against theft. I am delighted that their efforts have been recognised and that drivers of Audi models across the spectrum can take comfort from them”.

Audi models include Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser technology with interior ultrasonic protection, Thatcham Category 4 locking wheel bolts, anti-tow tilt sensors, visible Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) and extensive marked parts. Full Audi car leasing prices are available now.

The contract is based on three years, non-maintained, business contract hire, 10,000 miles per annum with a three month initial rental followed by 35 subsequent payments. This car has a manufacturer list price (basic price plus VAT) of £16,415, a CO2 emissions output of 119g/km and achieves 62.8 mpg on the combined fuel cycle.

Other Audi cars and contract terms will be available on Audi car leasing via the £ Shopper quote engine, plus options and technical information are also shown. This image may not represent the actual model and don’t forget that only 50% of the VAT that is applied to the finance element of contract hire can be recovered by your business. So once you add the VAT you can’t recover, the true cost to your business (or effective rental) is £233.59. This assumes you have normal VAT status.

From £3 per month for “with maintenance” business contract hire

Audi A3 Sportback

Before you choose your next car or van on contract hire leasing we recommend you check the price of adding full maintenance cover. There are two main reasons why you should consider this option, as follows:

1) Higher disposal price for fully maintained vehicles.

The contract hire leasing Company will prefer you to opt for an “all inclusive” service package, as they want you to maintain your vehicle in line with the manufacturer’s recommended service intervals. If the vehicle goes wrong and needs fixing during the contract, they also want you to ensure it is repaired at a manufacturer approved service agent.

As a result they may take a more favourable view on the future disposal price of a vehicle on a “with maintenance” contract, over one on non-maintenance, which in turn makes the contract hire car or van leasing rental more attractive.

2) Protection from future unexpected maintenance bills.

A major benefit of contract hire is that it provides you with one rental that can cover most costs. All routine servicing and maintenance, replacement tyres, batteries and exhausts can be provided, if you choose this option. (Please note that the leasing Company will not pay for repairs if you damage your vehicle however).

To show you an example of what we mean let’s have a look at the contract hire rates for an Audi A3 Sportback 1.4 TFSI 5 Door which has a manufacturer list price of £16,335.

The least expensive business contract hire rental on the site for this car, on non-maintenance, three years, 10,000 miles per annum, with a payment profile of three rentals in advance followed by 35 subsequent payments, is £251.00 per month, excluding VAT

If you use the contract hire quote engine to change this to “With maintenance” the rentals moves to £254.00 excluding VAT, for the same vehicle.

So for £3 more per month, on the basic rental, you can enjoy full maintenance contract hire. Now, not every Audi car leasing or other manufacturer contract hire maintenance rental will be like this. However all we recommend is that it is worth checking to see if you can find a bargain like this. This same principle will also apply to any customers looking at personal contract hire as well, however don’t forget you pay the VAT inclusive monthly rental shown.
