Toyota Avensis car production
Toyota has started car production of its brand new Avensis at its Burnaston plant, which is Toyota’s largest production site in Europe. This brings some welcome news for the British manufacturing industry and will secure many jobs for the future.
The new Toyota Avensis was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year and builds on the practicality and spaciousness of the old model, with a contemporary, sharper new design, a quieter cabin and better driving dynamics. The top-selling 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine has also been improved to offer lower CO2 emissions (as low as 119g/km) and better fuel economy.

New Toyota Avensis
The new Avensis is launched in T2, TR and T Spirit saloon, with prices matched to that of the outgoing model and there is a small decrease in the price of the T4 models. The full range of all new Avensis models is below. Toyota contract hire prices are available now with first deliveries expected in December if you order soon.

Toyota Enthusiasts Club
The Toyota Enthusiasts Club was founded by in 1991 by Nik Ellis and Bob Willis, who both shared an appreciation for Toyota cars. Last weekend the club celebrated its 20th anniversary at its annual meeting at Billing Aquadrome, near Northampton, with around 45 classic Toyotas on show.
The club has around 150 members and some of the cars that turned up included a 1970′s Hiace Campervan driven by Raf Evers from Belguim, who also owns 36 Toyota vehicles in total. Other classic models at the event included the Cressida, Crown, Corolla, with a classic Toyota Celica ST from 1977, 1985 Celica Supra and an Avon Celica cabriolet version headlining the show.
If you own a classic Toyota and you are interested in joining the TEC then you can get more details off their website which can be found at www.toyotaenthusiasts.com . However, if you are interested in a brand new Toyota car (Avensis, Aygo, iQ, Prius ,Yaris, RAV-4, etc) then of course we have Toyota contract hire prices on the site now.

Toyota Verso
The versatile seven seat Toyota Verso gains more appeal with the introduction of a 2.2 D-CAT 150 clean diesel engine with a slick six-speed intelligent automatic transmission. The engine offers 148bhp and a 0-62mph time of 10.1 seconds yet provides 41.5 mpg on the combined fuel cycle. The powertain is shared with the Avensis and emissions for the Verso, with this engine and transmission, are 178g/km CO2.
The six-speed automatic is clever in that it adapts its shift pattern automatically in line with your driving style and the driving conditions to produce smooth and quiet shifts. If you want to get a more engaging drive you can switch to “Sport” mode or make manual gear changes using the shift lever or paddle controls on the steering wheel.
The Verso 2.2 D-CAT 150 is available in either TR or T Spirit versions and with 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels as standard on both models and Toyota car leasing prices are readily available from the site.

New comparison tool
Toyota is offering customers the opportunity to use its new comparison tool on its website where you can compare the hard facts about the benefits of Toyota Optimal Drive versus other rival models. All the data is updated monthly and is sourced from KWIKCarcost.
The first step in using the calculator is to click on “Take the Challenge” on the home page, then select a current Toyota model from the drop-down menu. You then get an instant comparison on cumulative three year running costs. Clicking on “further comparisons” and you get to see graphics, power, mpg efficiency, road tax/CO2 emissions and residual values.
The calculator demonstrates the strong performance of the latest Toyota models including iQ, Aygo, Avensis, Auris and Yaris. However before you buy your car think about car leasing as all cars will depreciate in value.

The Toyota iQ
The Toyota iQ is one of the safest vehicles on the market according to new independent testing results from Euro NCAP. Together with the Toyota Avensis the iQ was awarded a 5 Star overall protection rating.
The new overall ratings scheme uses a weighted score of the following protection factors;
1) Adult (50%)
2) Child (20%)
3) Pedestrian (20%)
4) Availability of driver assistance devices (10%)
A minimum score of 70% must be achived to get a 5 Star rating so the iQ and Avensis are particularly safe models with the iQ achieving 79% and the Avensis 81%.
