The German Show

This year, The German Show is being held at the world-famous Beaulieu attraction, in the grounds of the National Motor Museum, on Sunday the 24th July. All German marque owners are welcome to attend the event and all Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and Volkswagen models are welcomed, whether old or new.

There will be Best in Show award with the winner receiving a prize of £100 and a Beaulieu trophy, plus there will also be numerous trade stands, cars for sale, children’s activities, plus Go-Karting (at an extra charge). You can also camp overnight and there will be evening entertainment and a barbecue too.

Tickets for the owners of German vehicles taking part in the show are £10 for an adult, £17  for adult with camping and £8 for children. Spirit of Ecstacy

The world-famous Rolls-Royce mascot, the Spirit of Ecstacy, celebrates its centenary anniversary this year and a new exhibition is being unveiled on the 5th May 2011 at Palace House, as part of the Beaulieu attraction.

The Montagu family has had a long association with Rolls-Royce and the inspirational story behind the design and creation of this iconic mascot is being told. The exhibition lasts from May to October 2011 and further information can be found at the Beaulieu website.

Trucks and Troops

The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is playing host to Trucks and Troops from the 28th to the 30th May 2011. The show is being staged by the South Hampshire Area of the Military Vehicle Trust and will showcase the development of military transport, combat vehicles and soldiering through the ages.

There will be over 200 military vehicles on show from push-bikes, armoured and tracked vehicles, Jeeps, Dodges, Austin Champs and of course Land Rovers, to name just a few.

The vehicles range from pre WWII to the Gulf War and visitors can also watch a wide range of activities including a parade of vehicles and live action from Rolling Thunder, a Royal Marine Cadet Field Gun display plus various bands providing musical entertainment.

Rupert Grint

Harry Potter star, Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series of films, has paid a flying visit to the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu, to take a look the “Flying” Ford Anglia which was featured in the “Chamber of Secrets”.

Ford Anglia

The Ford Anglia is on display for the whole of 2011 and while seeing his old vehicle, Rupert also visited the World of Top Gear Enormodrome to check out his 3rd place time for the 15th season of the show.

The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu includes the World of Top Gear exhibition plus the James Bond Experience. In addition you have Palace House plus the 13th century Beaulieu Abbey to visit and it is a great day out for all the family.

The 2010 Top Gear Christmas Special showed the dynamic trio of Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May driving three new cars following the same path as the Three Wise Men. The trip started in the Middle East from Iraq and ended some 1,200 miles later in Bethlehem.

BMW Z3

Jeremy Clarkson chose a Mazda MX5 with a unique “car of many colours paint job”, Richard Hammond was in a Fiat Barchetta and James May drove a BMW Z3 with a cunning camouflage paint job.

If you want to see the three cars they can be found at the World of Top Gear exibition at Beaulieu which you can view as part of a visit to the whole Beaulieu attraction including the national Motor Museum with its collection of over 250 vehicles, Palace House, home of the Montagu family since 1538 and the 13^th century Beaulieu Abbey, plus rides for all the family.

Morgan cars

The National Motor Museum is welcoming Charles Morgan, Corporate Strategy Director of the Morgan Motor Company and grandson of the company founder, for an evening dedicated to the story of Morgan.

The Morgan Car Company is one of the last family owned sports car companies in existence and was created in 1909. It is well known for its handcrafted lightweight cars that offer an exhilarating drive. Before the presentation (at 8.00pm) the museum will open for a private viewing from 6.30pm.

Hot Rods at Beaulieu

On Sunday the 21st June, the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu will see hundreds of stunning Hot Rods and Custom Cars, sunning themselves in the picturesque grounds. Last year over 250 vehicles attended the first event and more are expected this year.  You can expect the usual Hot Rods and Customs but look out for Classic Americans, Chops and Bobbers.

There will also be a display of the iconic Airstream caravans, Tot Rods and a Static Wild Bunch Dragster Exhibition, plus trade stands and prizes for the best vehicles.  Admission is from 10.00 a.m. and includes entry to the whole Beaulieu event, including the National Motor Museum with the new Autoglym “Jaguar Jamboree” Exhibition, Palace House, home of the Montagu family since 1538 and 13th century Beaulieu Abbey and gardens, plus rides for all the family.

You will also be able to see the attraction’s newest feature,” World of Top Gear”, with some actual cars from some of the most ambitious challenges Jeremy, Richard and James have undertaken, plus you can hear stories and see clips from some of their best moments over the years.
