Audi A1

Audi A1 has won the Best Small Car award at the 2011 Fleet World Honours ceremony which was held at the RAC Club in Pall Mall. This marks the Audi A1′s second fleet award in 2011 and the fifth award of the year.

Steve Moody, Editor of Fleet World,said,”Audi’s new A1 is just so desirable, combining chunky good looks with the firm’s meticulous attention to detail and quality. It might not be the cheapest supermini, but strong performance on the used market will balance the books. Pre-launch, it always looked a winner – now on fleet, it has proved it”. Volkswagen Golf

Volkswagen retained two key vehicle categories at the 2011 Fleet News Awards last week, with the Volkswagen Polo crowned “Best Small Car” and the Volkswagen Golf crowned “Best Lower Medium Car” that fleets can buy. A panel made of industry experts, as well as senior members of the Fleet News editorial team, looked at wide range of judging criteria. This covered operating costs (depreciation, fuel, servicing, maintenance and repair, lease rates, tax liability) suitability for use by fleets for company car drivers and the level of support from the manufacturers and their corporate sales teams.

Volkswagen Polo

The judges commented as follows on the Polo,”A broad range of engines with low-CO2 choices and a choice of three door and five door models make the Polo appealing to fleets and drivers”.

On the Golf they said,”The Volkswagen Golf offers unrivalled depth to its range from BlueMotion right up to GTI and R models. Diesel Car Magazine has announced the winners of its annual car of the year awards 2010 with the Peugeot 5008 grabbing top spot as Car of the year 2010.

Experts at Diesel Car Magazine put over 275 different diesel cars through their paces to come up with the winners in ten classes. There were also three new awards this year- best crossover, best sports car and best eco car. The Awards issue of Diesel Car Magazine goes on sale in newsagents from the 12th May and the list of winners is below.
