Brake, the road safety charity, has launched a new Road Safety Library for any business fleet interested in road safety. It is aimed at professionals round the world and shares best practise to help organisations deliver effective interventions to prevent and reduce deaths and injuries on roads.

The three main sections of the site will focus on the following;

1. A research library with up to date research data and reports on a wide range of road safety topics.
2. New road safety innovations and initiatives by governments, including international case studies to review.
3. Various education schemes available from agencies worldwide.

Kia wins fleet deal

Kia Motors (UK) Ltd has secured a deal to supply 92 cars over three years to Avery Berkel, a leading supplier of retail weighing solutions. The cars will be supplied by Kia Brindley of Wolverhampton which is a Kia Business Specialist Dealer.

The cars supplied are the cee’d EcoDynamics SWs and will be used by the nationwide network of Avery Berkel service engineers, as they carry out repairs and servicing at retail stores around the UK. The new cars are all fitted with ISG (Intelligent Stop and Go) technology, which automatically shuts down the engine when the car is at a standstill (and in neutral) and offers great fuel economy.

Dan McToal, Service Director at Avery Berkel said,”For our retail customers, equipment downtime has a negative impact on store profitability. Ensuring our technicians are equipped with the latest technology is therefore vital to our service delivery and investing in the new Kia car fleet is a key part of this process”.
