Citroen DS4 5-door coupes

Clear Channel UK has just taken delivery of its first Citroen DS4s as part of a single badge agreement with Citroen, for the supply of its fleet cars. They are one of the UK’s market leaders in outdoor advertising and chose Citroen as part of their commitment to reduce CO2 emissions.

Their vehicle order included new DS4s, new C4, C4 Picasso, C5 Saloon and C5 Tourer, with a combination of HDi diesel engines or the ultra-efficient e-HDi micro-hybrid powertrains with Stop & Start. The DS4 e-HDi models have Citroen’s six-speed EGS automated manual transmission as standard and return 64.2 combined mpg and emit 114g/km of CO2. Citroen contract hire is on the site now for the whole range of cars and vans.

Glenn Ewen, Fleet Manager for Clear Channel UK, said: “In each price band Citroën has a choice of three or four models and using a single supplier cuts down on paperwork. It also reduces work for our drivers as they don’t have to compare models from a variety of manufacturers. With these new Citroen cars our drivers certainly appreciate paying less Benefit in Kind tax than they did before.”

Citroen Lacoste Concept

Citroen is celebrating the start of their new summer season at their C_42 international showcase building which is situated on the prestigious Champs-Elysees in Paris. The new layout, exhibits and decor is called “A World of Creative Technologie” and over the next three months, thousands of visitors will see the very best in innovation and technology on offer from the French brand.

The DS range will be taking centre stage with the new DS4, recently voted “The Most Beautiful Car of the Year” and the sporty DS3 Racing.  Citroen will also be showing off the Citroen C5′s Hydractive suspension, the all-electric C-ZERO plus the Citroen Lacoste Concept looks to the future with a back-to-basics theme, coupled with technology and flair. Other highlights include a sensory 4-D cinema expereince, 3D holographic tool, Citroen Social Club area, a new-look shop plus a chance to win a weekend in Venice.

Citroen is supporting the BT Paralympic World Cup, which is the world’s largest annual multi-site elite disability event, with over 300 competitiors from more than 31 countries taking part. The four sport disciplines they compete in are Wheelchair Basketball, Football 7-a- side, Swimming and Athletics and the competition will be staged in Manchester from the 25th to the 31st May.

A fleet of 16 Citroen cars is being provided, including the award-winning C3 Picasso, C-Crosser, Grand C-4 Picasso and a C5, to help with transporting athletes. AST and Citroen

Citroen Commercial has supplied the AST Ambulance Service,one of the UK’s leading suppliers of specialist medical equipment, with two specially converted Relay bariatric ambulances and one Dispatch-based bariatric support vehicle. The Relay ambulances will be used to carry patients weighing more than 318kg (50 stone) or more.

The Relay model is based on the 35 L3H2 120 panel van, is expected to last four years and cover over 100,000 miles. The Dispatch 20HDI support vehicle, which also carries a wide range of medical equipment is also expected to have a similar life.

AST already has a 26 company fleet including Citroen C5 ambulance cars and expects to add further Citroen vehicles to its fleet.
