Skoda Superb

The Skoda Superb Estate Elegance 2.0-litre TDI DSG has just been voted the top car in the £25,000-£32,000 category at the 2012 Caravan Club Towcar of the Year Awards, a feat it achieved last year as well.

Rigorous testing of all the entrants took place at Millbrook proving ground where the judges assessed the vehicles based on towing ability as well as acceleration, braking and the ability to cope with demanding hill starts. The cars were also scored on their usability in terms of everyday caravanning.

The judges commented that the Skoda Superb Estate was “the best on hill starts by a mile”, “effortless to drive and tow with”, “confidence inspiring” and a “pleasant environment to be in”. Skoda car leasing on the Skoda Superb range is on the site now.

Ford Fiesta ECOnetic

Ford has extended their popular ECOnetic Fiesta range which is now available in Edge, Zetec and Titanium trim levels. All Fiesta ECOnetic models are powered by the 1.6-litre, 95PS Duratorq TDCi engine with Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF), which offers 78.5 combined mpg and CO2 emissions of just 95g/km.

The Edge ECOnetic comes with Electronic Stability Programme (ESP), air-conditioning, lowered suspension, aerodynamic improvements and low rolling resistance tyres. Step up to the Zetec trim and this adds 14-inch 6-spoke alloy wheels, front fog lights, rear wheel deflectors, chrome surrounds on headlights, lower front grille, tailgate handle, three-spoke leather steering wheel and ambient lighting.

The top-of-the-range Titanium model adds Sony DAB radio, Bluetooth voice control and USB, cruise control, front upper grille chrome strip, power folding door mirrors, privacy glass, electronic automatic temperature control (EATC), automatic headlamps, automatic wipers, two rear speakers and a perimeter alarm as well.

Two new colours, Mars Red and Fashionista, have just been added to the existing ten colour options and Ford car leasing on the new models is on the site now.

National Grid

National Grid has just taken delivery of 80 brand new Ford Fiesta Edge ECOnetic models which will be driven by the 2011 recruits to the National Grid’s engineering training programme, which combines academic study with on- and off-the-job instruction.

The ECOnectic Fiesta models have all been fitted with optional Quickclear front windscreens and Bluetooth connectivity and the trainees will use them to travel between university and college and the National Grid training centre at Eakring, near Newark in Nottinghamshire.

A vehicle tender process was undertaken citing value for money, low fuel consumption and emissions as the main selection criteria. National Grid fleet operations manager, David Morse, explained,”Our “user-chooser” company car scheme was not appropriate for such a large number of new, young engineers. Ford was successful in the tender process and the Fiesta ECOnetic fitted the bill perfectly”.

The Fiesta Edge ECOnetic 1.6 TDCi (95bhp) 3-door is on the site on Ford car leasing over three years/30,000 miles, 3+35 rental profile, non-maintained from £159+VAT per month. The car returns 78.5 combined mpg and emits only 95g/km of CO2 making it an extremely fuel-efficient and low CO2 car.

New MINI Coupe

MINI has released the pricing details of the new MINI Coupe which is the first two-seater produced by the brand and will be the 5th unique model offered alongside the MINI Hatch, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman.

The four-strong MINI Coupe range will go on sale on the 1st October with the entry MINI Cooper Coupe starting with a £16,640 on-the-road price.

The car has a stunning exterior design and is unlike anything else in the compact sports car segment and we hope to be loading MINI car leasing prices on the new models soon.

The range with CO2 and Combined MPG

Nissan Juke

The Nissan Juke crossover has had revised gear ratio improvements for its best-selling models and will now offer improved fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions. The Nissan Juke is another success story for Nissan with over 22,000 Jukes sold in the UK since it was launched back in September 2010 and follows on from the success of the Nissan Qashqai.

Both the 1.6-litre petrol and 1.5 dCi diesel drivetrains, with manual transmission, have undergone the optimisation programme with revised gear ratios offering cleaner and more fuel-efficient cars at no extra cost.

The 1.6-litre petrol now returns 47.1mpg on the combined fuel cycle (an improvement of 2.3mpg) and emits just 139g/km of CO2 (a reduction of 8g/km). The 1.5 dCi diesel returns 57.6mpg (up from 55.4mpg) and emits 129g/km of CO2 (a drop from 134g/km). Chevrolet Orlando

To celebrate their centennial anniversary, Chevrolet has commissioned a bespoke seven-seater Chevrolet Orlando with design inspiration from Quinze & Milan, who coated all parts that are being touched, with its design signature, QM FOAM.

Quinze & Milan are keen to demonstrate the possibilities of its versatile technology but also how flexible its product is in coating a wide range of surfaces and the Orlando’s new signature is only a temporary installation.

All-new Zafira Tourer

Vauxhall is setting a keen entry price of £21,000 for its all-new Zafira Tourer which they recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The Zafira Tourer ES entry model has plenty of standard options included as it comes equipped with air conditioning, DAB radio, cruise control, MP3/Aux In connections, 6 airbags, 7-speaker sound system, active headrests and Vauxhall’s Flex7 seating.

The new Zafira Tourer will be positioned above the current Zafira range and the other models on offer are Exclusiv, SE and Elite trims. In terms of length the Zafira Tourer is 190mm longer than the standard Zafira, has a new chassis using key components from the Insignia range, wider tracks and has Vauxhall’s FlexRide adaptive damping system for an outstanding ride.

It’s nearest competitor would the Ford’s S-Max and Vauxhall is clearly undercutting its main rival by over £1,200, with the Zafira ES Tourer entry price. In addition the Zafira Tourer has a range of other safety features (cost options) including Traffic Sign Recognition, Side Blind Spot Alert and Advance Park Assist (which helps you find an adequate parking space and park in it). 

Two new engines are on offer – a 1.4 Turbo petrol and a 2.0 CDTi (with three outputs including a 119g/km ecoFLEX version), which join a 1.8-litre petrol unit, all of which offer a power option range from 110PS to 165PS. Now that pricing has been announced we hope to be loading Vauxhall car leasing prices shortly.

New Toyota Avensis Tourer

The new Toyota Avensis has just made its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and this third-generation model has been substantially revised. It has a bolder, more refined exterior design, with daytime running lights and the new Toyota family “face”, plus there have also been significant improvements to the finish quality and comfort in the cabin for both the Saloon and Tourer models.

The 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine has also been revised and offers a company car driver an attractive CO2 emissions figure of 119g/km, or there is also a 1.8- and 2.0-litre petrol engine on offer. All cars have a six-speed manual transmission and some can be specified with a six-speed automatic transmission with Toyota’s Multidrive S continuously variable transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifts.

New Toyota Avensis Saloon

The new Toyota Avensis is packed full of safety features with ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+) as standard. In addition you can also get an Advanced Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system as an option, plus Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist available as well. We hope to have Toyota car leasing on the new models loaded shortly.

New Golf Cabriolet

The new Volkswagen Golf Cariolet and the Volkswagen Jetta have both been awarded a maximum five stars safety rating for adult, child and pedestrian protection from EuroNCAP, the OEM-independent international crash testing programme. 

Both the Golf Cabriolet and the Jetta achieved impressive scores in the occupant safety test with scores of 96% and 94% respectively. They attained top marks in all seat positions regardless of the height of the driver and front passenger. They also received top marks in child occupant protection for ages 18 months to 3 years with frontal and car-to-car side impact tests as well, making these two Volkswagens among the safest vehicles in their class.

Pedestrian protection is also important and the Jetta has achieved good results especially in protection of the lower leg from the bumper and the Golf Cabriolet achieved good results in head protection for children, as the top of the bonnet can deflect inwards in a frontal impact.

Finally both vehicles impressed the EuroNCAP assessors in the “safety assist” category with 71% scores, as both have safety items like vehicle dynamic control (ESP) as standard. Volkswagen car leasing is available now on all models.
