Lexus has for the eleventh year running just been voted highest ranked car manufacturer for UK vehicle ownership, in the latest J.D. Power and Associates/What Car? study. The Lexus IS  executive saloon achieved the highest overall score and the RX luxury SUV was ranked third overall.

This year’ survey was conducted from the opinions of 16,840 owners of vehicles that were on average two years old and Richard Balshaw, Lexus Director, commented,”We are delighted and immensely proud that Lexus has retained number one position. It’s a great reward for the teams at our Lexus centres across the country,who work unstintingly to deliver the best possible service to our customers”. Mazda tops Customer Service

Every six months, the Institute of Customer Service asks 26,000 people (twice a year) what they think about the service levels they received from the UK’s major companies and then collates the information into the UK Customer Satisfaction Index (UKCSI).

Mazda has once again come top scoring 80.6% satisfaction, which is five points above the overall UK average. The top five results in the car manufacturer part of the survey are as follows;

1. Mazda 80.6%
2. Honda - 80.3%
3. BMW/MINI – 80.2%
4. Toyota -79.6%
5. Mercedes-Benz -79.0%

Mazda was ahead of the overall manufacturer car company average and the highest score in any sector was 88% for both Waitrose and John Lewis. The twice-yearly survey covers more than 150 companies in the retail, financial, tourism, telecoms, transport and automotive sector.

Atomik 500

The UK debut of the all-electric Atomik 500 “city supercar” will take place at the Salon Prive (at the Hurlingham Club in Chelsea) between the 21st and 23rd of July 2010. Two Atomik 500′s will be brought to the event by the Paris-based car manufacturer.

This fantastic city-car offers a supercar performance with zero emissions, reaching 0-100km per hour (approximately 60mph) in only five seconds and has a range of 200km (around 120 miles). SEAT, the sporty Spanish car manufacturer, is stepping up its search for the soccer stars of tomorrow with its Kicks and Tricks online competition.

The competition challenges over-18s to submit video clips of their “freestyle” football” skills via SEAT’s membership website, Club SEAT.

An online vote by Club SEAT members will decide which talented youngsters will go onto perform at the SEAT FIVES final in April. You can also win tickets at the 2010 UEFA Europa League Final in Hamburg.

Infiniti 2010 updates

Infiniti, the luxury Japanese car manufacturer, has launched enhanced interiors for 2010 G Coupe and G Convertible models. Every G Line model now comes with a Connectiviti multi-media system as standard. There are also new Premium versions of the Infiniti G and Infiniti G Coupe.

The new enhanced 2010 G Coupe and G Converible interior look centres on a redesigned console based on the EX and FX crossovers.

Shakira

The sporty car manufacturer SEAT has announced their sponsorship of Shakira, the international pop star, for her forthcoming European tour. The Spanish brand will also collaborate with the singer’s Barefoot Foundation which helps provide education for children living in extreme poverty.

This is not the first time SEAT has sponsored Shakira, the Colombian-born singer, as in 2007 they sponsored the “Oral Fixation” European tour which visited Oslo, Prague, London, Paris, Berlin among other cities.
