Jaguar E-Type
The Goodwood Revival opened on the 16th September and will run through this weekend until tomorrow, Sunday, September the 18th. A thrilling practise session of 30 or so Jaguar E-Types took place yesterday, with the official race on today.
Jaguar has a wonderful racing heritage and Tony O’Keefe, Curator at Jaguar Heritage, commented,”It’s been an incredible first day at the Goodwood Revival – a truly unique event and a fitting place to celebrate 50-years of the E-Type. I’m grateful for the support shown by private owners in entering their valuable cars in the races as well as putting them on display- Jaguar has a wonderful heritage, kept alive by the enthusiasm and passion of the owners”.
Over the weekend, 140,000 visitors are expected at the Goodwood Revival with many dressed up in vintage clothing and arriving in their own vintage cars. If you are interested in classic cars, motorcycles and vintage aircraft then visit the Goodwood Revival website for more details.

1963 Bentley Continental
A magnificent 1963 Bentley Continental and a 1953 Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk1, that has covered less than 11,000 miles in 57 years, are on sale at Baron’s British heritage sale at Sandown Park on the 26th October. Other notable British cars on sale include a 1953 Austin Healey 100-4, a 1967 Jaguar E-Type S1 4.2 FHC, four XK150s and a 1999 Ford (GTD) GT40.

1953 Aston Martin DB2/4 MK1
The 1963 Bentley Continental 2 Door Coupe by Mulliner is one of just eight examples ever built in right-hand drive. The estimated sale price is in the region of £90,000 -£125,000. The Aston Martin DB2/4 Mk1 was bought new in 1953 by an elderly doctor and he used it very sparingly until the 1970s when he put it into storage. It then lay unused until 2002 when the current owner bought it. The estimate price for this should be £90,000-£120,000.

Peel P50 - world's smallest production car
The 2010 Footman James Classic Motor Show is being held in November at Birmingham’s NEC between the 12th and 14th of November. The show theme shows cars of all ages and from nations across the globe that have all been record-breakers.
Show manager, Andy Rouse, said,”Record-breaking cars come in all shapes and sizes and we’ll be recognising as many of them as we can. Many automotive record-breakers are the kind of cars we grew up with-because of the number they’ve sold for example, but we’ll also be looking at the most outlandish, the most competitive and the most frugal.
Some examples of motoring record-breakers
- The longest ever skid marks were six miles long and was created by the Spirit of America jet powered car on the Utah Salt Flat in 1964.
- The best selling single model of car ever was the Volkswagen Beetle, with 21,529,464 models being made.
