MINI Highgate

After the MINI Baker Street and MINI Bayswater exclusive editions a new model in the trio has just been launched called the MINI Highgate. MINI is continuing the brand’s  policy of taking the names of fashionable areas of London, with Highgate a sophisticated new version of their drop-top Convertible.

This new four-seater convertible offers a raft of unique exterior and interior features and is finished in an all-new metallic ‘Iced Chocolate’ body colour, which works perfectly with the tailored ‘Silvertouched Truffle’ fabric roof. The unique look is enhanced by truffle bonnet stripes with blue edging.

MINI Highgate

Midnight Black metallic or White Silver metallic paintwork can be specified as an option and the door mirror caps are always finished in the same shade as the exterior. The MINI Highgate comes with bespoke 17-inch ‘Double Cross Turned’ light-alloy wheels in a subtle aluminium colour, taking its design inspiration from the Union Jack flag.

Inside the car there are ‘Dark Truffle’ Lounge Leather seats that feature blue piping and contrasting stitching. MINI’s popular Chili Pack; filled with added extras like automatic air conditioning, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, multi-function steering wheel, multi-coloured interior lights, is also standard on the Highgate special edition.

You also get sun-touched Brushed Alloy detailing on the dashboard and the Chrome Line Interior and Exterior packages are also included. Finally for that final touch, exclusive ‘Highgate’ lettering  is detailed on the side indicator surrounds, door sills and seat tags, marking the car out from the crowd.

The MINI Highgate comes in four engine options; the MINI Cooper (90 kW/122 hp), MINI Cooper S (135 kW/184 hp), MINI Cooper D (82 kW/112 hp) and MINI Cooper SD (105 kW/143 hp). All are linked to a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, with a six-speed automatic available as an option and the OTR prices are below. New Fiat 500CbyGucci

The new Fiat500CbyGucci has arrived in the UK as part of its European tour and will be on show in Covent Garden, London, between the 16th and 19th October, displayed in a striking 5 square metre crystal cube with an elegant black lacquered top.

The customised convertible was created by Gucci Creative in collaboration with Fiat’s Centro Stylo style centre and is available in two colours namely classic black and white, with a distinctive glitter finish. The Fiat500CbyGucci has 16-inch alloy wheels with retro design spokes, with hub caps displaying a “G” logo in matching body colour,while the Gucci signature is visible on the tailgate and door pillar.

Inside the interior of the car brims with classic style, including classic stitching, two-tone Frau leather seats with Guccissima print, velvet-effect finish on the radio panel, satin and chrome-plated elements, plus the Gucci theme appears on the seats, gearbox, key cover and mats.

New MINI Coupe

MINI has released the pricing details of the new MINI Coupe which is the first two-seater produced by the brand and will be the 5th unique model offered alongside the MINI Hatch, Convertible, Clubman and Countryman.

The four-strong MINI Coupe range will go on sale on the 1st October with the entry MINI Cooper Coupe starting with a £16,640 on-the-road price.

BMW i3 Concept

BMW is unveiling a raft of new vehicles at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show including the new BMW i3 Concept and BMW i8 Concept. The “BMW i” symbol stands for BMW’s new vision for inspirational design and a new interpretation of the premium concept. The BMW i3 Concept, also known as the Megacity Vehicle, is the first purely electrically powered production car within the BMW Group.

The BMW i8 Concept is their latest generation sports car with a plug-in hybrid design, combining an internal combustion engine with an electric drive, that promises an exceptional driving experience with extremely low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

In addition, BMW will also be unveiling the new second-generation BMW 1 Series which boasts increased legroom and a significantly improved driving comfort. The new BMW 1 Series is a rear-wheel drive car utilising four-cylinder engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology. The new sporty, elegant new BMW 1 Series also comes with the new BMW Lines range as well, which allows you to personalise your car in a number of ways. New features available on the 1 Series for the first time include, Speed Limit Information System with No-Passing Info and the new Lane Departure Warning System with Collision Warning.

BMW is also bringing their new BMW M5 to the show with its high-revving V8 engine equipped with M TwinPower Turbo technology, which offers a peak 560hp plus seven-speed M double-clutch Drivelogic Transmission with the new Active M Differential ensuring an optimum distribution of drive torque.

A popular car with company car drivers will be the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Edition which also makes its debut. This new car also features Auto Start Stop on additional models with automatic transmission plus Driving Experience Control, including ECO PRO mode, as standard equipment on all four- and six-cylinder models. The BMW 6 Series Coupe and new 6 Series Convertible with diesel engines will also make their European debut plus additional model versions of the rest of the range and finally the BMW Z4 Roadster also gets BMW’s TwinPower Turbo technology with two models, the BMW Z4 sDrive 20i and the BMW Z4 sDrive28i. Both can now be combined with  eight-speed transmission for the first time.

New MINI Soho edition

MINI has announced a new MINI Soho limited special edition for the summer in both the MINI Hatch and MINI Convertible models, which follows the theme of naming their special editions after London Boroughs. The MINI Soho editions have exclusive “White Silver” metallic paint (only available on this limited edition range) plus 17-inch Black Star Bullet alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlights with black reflectors and white indicators.

Inside the car has a sporty feel with Anthracite headlining, a 3-Spoke sport leather steering wheel and “Piano Black” finishes to the interior. The MINI Soho edition will be available in both Cooper (petrol) and Cooper D models from July until March 2012 and don’t forget the MINI Cooper D’s CO2 emissions of just 99g/km (making it exempt from the London Congestion Charge) and a whopping 74.3 combined mpg. New BMW 5 Series

BMW has announced some changes to its 5 Series executive model with an expansion of the range to eleven, plus the eagerly awaited BMW 520d EfficientDynamics model.  This is bound to be very popular with company car drivers as it offers similar performance to the 320d EfficientDynamics.

The 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine offers a combined mpg 62.8, CO2 emissions of  just 119g/km, yet still accelerates the car from 0-62mph in just 8.2 seconds. The car also comes with BMW‘s new ECO-PRO Mode  which offers economical and comfortable driving at low speeds, Auto Start-Stop, Optimum Gearshift Indicator, Brake Energy Regeneration and Active Aerodynamics.

There are also new petrol engines in the rest of the new 5 Series 11-car range and the arrival of the BMW 520i and BMW 528i. Extensive modifications have also been made to the diesel engines in the BMW 530d and BMW 535d, increasing power and fuel efficiency. All the new BMW 5 Series range comes with Drive Performance Control as standard, which allows you to fine tune the ride by selecting Comfort, Sport or Sport+.  Other changes to BMW models

In addition to the BMW 5 Series range changes, BMW has also announced the following information and enhancements about other models;

BMW 6 Series diesel

• There are new four-cylinder engines for the BMW Z4.
• The BMW X1 xDrive20d adds an Efficient Dynamics model with CO2 at 119g/km and combined mpg at 62.8.
• A new BMW 3 Series Coupe and Convertible Sport Plus Edition is being launched building on the M Sport trim.
• The new BMW 6 Series now gets a diesel added to the Coupe and Convertible range and an M Sport Specification.
• The 640d Coupe returns 51.4 combined mpg and has CO2 emissions of 144g/km.
• The 640d Convertible returns 50.4 combined mpg and emits 148g/km of CO2.
• There is new equipment to the BMW 7 Series which gets a new version of Night Vision. 

Fiat 500 TwinAir range

Fiat has made the popular TwinAir model a new range in its Fiat 500 car line-up and the new TwinAir cars feature black alloy wheels, burnished metal effects on dashboard and front rear mouldings, spoiler, chrome exhaust pipe and sports seats. However it’s the engine that will attract new buyers to the car as its 0.9-litre TwinAir engine has high torque at low revs, but also offers a remarkable 95g/km of CO2, making it exempt from the London congestion charge and kind on the environment.

The new TwinAir range will come in both 500 (hatchback) and 500 C (convertible) versions and will only be available in colours such as Pearlescent Red, Tropicalia Yellow and Electroclash. New Chevrolet Camaro Cabrio

Chevrolet has just announced the prices for the new Chevrolet Camaro with the entry model costing £34,995 OTR and the convertible from £39,995. For that you will get a beefy 6.2-litre V8 muscle engined icon and both variants are made to full European specification.

The cars are available in left-hand drive only but come with 20-inch alloy wheels, Brembo performance brakes, full leather upholstery with six-way adjustable driver’s seat, a Boston acoustics nine-speaker audi system, Bluetooth and rear parking sensors. The convertible also has a power folding roof.
