The DVLA Personalised Registrations department is holding their next three-day autumn auction at the Rudding Park Hotel, near Harrogate from Tuesday the 5th October. There will be a great selection of plates on sale with 1,500 available, with prices to suit any budget.

The star plate is likely to be 10 0, which has a reserve of £10,000 however many other prices are much affordable starting from £250. The final sum paid comprises the winning amount, auctioneers commission, 17.5% VAT and the £80 transfer fee.

You are allowed to put  a personalised plate on a leased vehicle however you will need permission from the leasing company to do this and they may charge you a small administration fee.

ESS 3X plate

A Chelmsford businessman has bought ESS 3X for a bargain price of £6,250 at the DVLA Personalised Registrations’ first day sale at Whittlebury Hall, Northamptonshire. The mystery businessman also confirmed he would have bid as much as £15,000 to get his “perfect plate”.

Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalised Registrations Manager, said: “Both the DVLA and the customer are both extremely happy with the result. Managing to raise a sum seven times its reserve is a tremendous achievement, and to hear our customer is delighted to have bought a bargain is music to my ears”. As well as ESS 3X being sold on the day, 1 EPS was also sold for £20,000. You are able to fit a personalised registration to a leased car or van provided you get permission from the leasing company.

DVLA Personalised Registrations is hoping for buoyant sales at their forthcoming three-day auction which gets underway on the 2nd June at Whittlebury Hall, the Northamptionshire venue. They have high hopes of raising significant sums for 7  O and 10 OOO which in addition to other plates on sale, may surpass the seven figure mark. Last year a series of “O” plates raised £872,000.

The forthcoming auction has over 1,500 personalised registrations on sale with styles and prices to match all pockets. "MY 10 MUM"

DVLA Personalised Registrations has revealed that with Mother’s Day approaching, they have sold over 1,500 prefix new style “MUM” registrations as a Mother’s Day gift.

The DVLA Personalised Registrations website has over 32 million personalised registrations available in “the vault” and there will one to suit your taste and budget if required. You can also fit your personalised plate to a leased car provided you get permission from the leasing company.

10 SERIES PLATES

The DVLA has sold over 9,000 10 Series plates since the new registrations went on sale on the 1st December 2009. Introduced in September 2001 the current style of registrations comprises of two letters, a two figure age identifier, a space and three letters. The number 10 simply identifies new cars that are registered and released in 2010 with the second release on September 1st 2010, being identified by the number 60.

One Renault car dealership for example has bought three CL10 plates CL10 YOU, CL10MEE and CL10 NOW for its fleet of courtesy cars which are all Renault Clios.

The DVLA Personalised Registrations sale continues at Old Trafford in the Spring with 9 0 being the star of the sale, with a reserve price of £10,000.

DVLA has also secured a limited number of tickets which will enable registered bidders to take a tour of the Manchester United museum and the “Theatre of Dreams” stadium as well.

1 000 sold for over £80,000

DVLA Personalised Registrations has got off to a cracking start for 2010, selling a personalised plate,” 1 000″, for more than £80,000 at auction recently. The winning bid was more than ten times the reserve price of £8,000.

The auction was held at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire and on the day “1 LFD” was also sold for £20,000. The next auction event will be at Old Trafford, home of Manchester United, from Wednesday the 24th March where on the day, plates such as “2 000″ , “9 0″ and a host of Manchester United vehicle registration related plates will be sold.

Owning a car or van personalised registration plate can be achieved for as little as £300 and there are plenty of other options available off the DVLA Personalised Registrations site. Remember it is illegal to misrepresent a vehicle registration on a number plate however.

DVLA Personalised Registrations is putting ELT 7ON under the hammer amongst 1,500 other plates at the next three-day auction at The Haycock Hotel, Cambridgeshire from Wednesday, January the 27th.

Other plates on sale for your car or van include ABS 41L (£350 reserve), AMG 80Y (£400) and 816 BOS (£,1700). Damian Lawson, DVLA Personalised Registrations’ Marketing Manager said,” Elton John is an iconic British rock and pop legend with a legion of fans right across the globe. I am confident ELT 7ON will prove a popular registration at The Haycock Hotel later this month”.

Following the football theme, motoring mad Liverpool fans could have the perfect opportunity to buy their own “Liverpool personalised plate” for their car, when A1 KOP goes on sale at the first public auction of 2010, at the Haycock Hotel in Wansford, Cambridgeshire.

The event starts on January the 27th, with 1 OOO  being auctioned which is one of the three triple O registrations also being auctioned. Other DVLA personalised plate numbers include GHO 55T (£900), ELT 70N (£900) and 1 HNE (£3,200) to name just a few. In total 1,500 registrations are up for sale.
