Audi has just won two prizes as well, at the Auto Express New Car Awards 2011, with the new Audi A6 Saloon clinching its first award since launch for Best Executive Category. The Audi A1 added the title of Best Premium Supermini to its already long honours list.

Graham Hope, Acting Editor of Auto Express,said,”The new A6 has wasted no time in demonstrating its abilities, having seen off a whole host of talented and desirable rivals to secure class honours in this competitive sector. Diesel Car Magazine has announced the winners of its annual car of the year awards 2010 with the Peugeot 5008 grabbing top spot as Car of the year 2010.

Experts at Diesel Car Magazine put over 275 different diesel cars through their paces to come up with the winners in ten classes. There were also three new awards this year- best crossover, best sports car and best eco car. The Awards issue of Diesel Car Magazine goes on sale in newsagents from the 12th May and the list of winners is below.

BMW 320d

BMW has celebrated again by winning the What Car? Award’s 2010 ”Best Compact Executive” car for the fifth year in a row. The BMW 320d saw off tough competition from other members of the 3 Series range, the 316d ES, 320d SE and 330d Saloons, all winning their own price category, to win the overall title.

The EfficientDynamics package on the 3 Series range, makes this one of the most economical cars in its class, however it was the smoothness and refinement of the car that won over the judges at What Car?.
