eco:Drive from Fiat wins top award
Friday, July 3rd, 2009Fiat has won another accolade for its clean green in-car technology at the most prestigious advertising awards in the world. eco:Drive was awarded a Grand Prix award at The Cannes Lions Awards, which took place in the South of France. Of the 2,205 short-listed for the category, in the Cannes Cyber Lions Award, only three received the coveted prize including eco:Drive.
Launched in 2008 by Fiat, in conjunction with digital agency AKQA, eco:Drive is a free to use tool that helps motorists understand their impact on the environment by analysing their driving style. You plug your USB memory stick into the Fiat car’s Blue&Me port and information about your vehicle and how it has been driven can be downloaded on to your computer. You can then analyse the data and adapt your driving style to improve your fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
“Even though eco:Drive is only for Fiat users, we wanted to spread its strong ecological messages as widely as possible,” says Elena Bernadelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK. “This great award is testimony to our success in achieving that. I am also delighted that this prestigious advertising festival should recognise eco:Drive as a new product that has established a relationship with customers, rather than simply a form of advertising”. Fiat has pioneered green technological innovations with its low CO2, fuel efficent cars and Fiat CO2 outputs can be compared on the site to help you find the greenest vehicle.
