What Van? has announced the winners of their prestigious What Van? Awards and this year named the Renault Master and Vauxhall Movano as joint winners of “Van of the Year”. The two vans are so closely related that it was hard to separate them.

The new Fiat Doblo Cargo has been crowned International Van of the Year 2011 at an award ceremony in Hanover, Germany on the 21st September. This new van from Fiat received a remarkable 128 out of a possible 168 points from a jury made up of 24 specialist commercial vehicle trade journalists.

Chairman of the International Van of the Year jury, Pieter Wieman, said: “The winning van design had impressed the jury on a number of fronts and above all by the fact that Fiat has succeeded in widening the number of platform and body varieties to a higher number than any van in this category”.

The Fiat Doblo Cargo is available with a choice of four low emissions, Euro 4 and 5-specification engines and comes in seven different forms – Cargo, Cargo Maxi, Cargo SX, Cargo Maxi SX, Combi, Combi Max and Platform Cab. Fiat fleet deal with Aston Villa

Fiat has announced its new fleet deal with the Premier League club, Aston Villa Football Club, after already sponsoring the England football team and Wembley Stadium earlier this year. The four year agreement will include both Fiat cars and Fiat Professional commercial vehicles.

The award winning Fiat 500 city car, Fiat Punto Evo, new Fiat Doblo and the rugged Fiat Ducato are just some of the vehicles being taken by Aston Villa.

Fiat Doblo Cargo

The pricing for the Fiat Doblo Cargo commercial vehicle range has now been launched by Fiat with the entry level model starting at a basic price of £11,195. The new Fiat Doblo Cargo has a choice of four engines namely a petrol 1.4-litre 1.6 95bhp unit and three MultiJet diesel engines, a 1.3 (90bhp), 1.6 (105bhp) and a 2.0 (135bhp).

The Doblo is available in Cargo, Cargo Maxi, Cargo SX, Cargo Maxi SX, Combi, Combi Maxi and Platform Cab and should offer a range of solutions to any commercial van fleet operator. Standard equipment includes ABS, height adjustable steering wheel, power steering, electric front windows, adjustable headlights, passenger seat undertray, high performance speakers, side rubbing strips and central door locking. Fiorino offers low CO2

Fiat has featured strongly in the new Government’s newly published Van CO2 database showing the least polluting vans around. The Fiat Fiorino emits only 116g/km CO2 and the Grand Punto van just 119g/km, offering commercial fleet customers a greener option. The Fiat Doblo emits only 139g/km in the Medium Van sector.

The Fiorino also offers a combined fuel consumption of 64.2 mpg and the Doblo is at 52.3 making them best in class for fuel economy. The top performing contenders in the Fiat Commercial family are as follows.

- Fiorino Cargo 1.3 Multijet 75 Comfort-Matic, combined mpg of 64.2 and CO2 of 116g/km.
