Lexus CT 200h F-SPORT

Lexus has announced details of an F-SPORT grade for their CT 200h full hybrid luxury compact car. The sports theme is reflected in new body styling elements that include a larger rear spoiler, flared side skirts, mesh grille and revised aero bumpers.

Outside the car also gets dark-finish 17-inch alloy wheels and electrically retractable electrochromatic door mirrors plus the suspension has been tuned for a more engaging drive, with the standard shock absorbers replaced with Kayaba dampers. Inside the cabin you get an F-Sport steering wheel with a flat bottom section and aluminium pedals and scuff plates.

The standard specification list builds upon the SE-L grade and in addition you get F-Sport black leather upholstery, heated front seats, electric driver’s seat adjustment and a rear-parking camera. As a full hybrid the C200h F-SPORT emits only 94g/km of CO2, returns 68.9 combined mpg fuel consumption plus it can also run for up to a mile in slow moving traffic on its electric power alone, with zero emissions. Toyota Prius

Toyota has supplied a fleet of Toyota Prius full hybrid cars for eCorporate Travel, an Edinburgh based offshoot of Edinburgh Executive Travel. The company has commited to taking 14 Prius T4s and with CO2 emissions at only 89g/km, they significantly undercut a standard hackney cab at 244g/km of CO2.

Low CO2 emissions are not the only benefit as the Prius hatchbacks return a fuel economy of more than 72mpg. The Prius can also operate solely on electric power, when required, meaning zero fuel consumption and zero emissions.

The company is also using Trees4Scotland to plant enough native trees to offset more than double the expected emissions from the transportation of its corporate clients. This would equate to around 73 tonnes of carbon dioxide, or the equivalent of driving 820,000km in a Toyota Prius.

The Toyota Prius T4 offers standard features such as automatic air conditioning, seven airbags, electric windows, eight-speaker CD player, rain-sensing wipers, Bluetooth, head-up display, Touch Tracer controls and smart entry and start, plus leather upholstery. CR-Z MUGEN

MUGEN Euro is building a one-off CR-Z MUGEN, based on the Honda CR-Z, which will deliver “Type R-like” performance from the hybrid’s electric powertain. This new, faster car will also make its world debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.

The engine changes to both the 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine and Honda IMA system, planned by MUGEN, may result in even greater mpg and lower CO2 consumption during some conditions. MUGEN lightweight body parts will also be added, including a carbon fibre bonnet, front and rear bumper, plus a spoiler. 

CR-Z MUGEN

Lexus CT 200h

Lexus intends to unveil the new Lexus CT200h the first and only full hybrid model of car in the premium compact segment, offering new levels of comfort, refinement and most importantly low CO2 emissions.

The CT200h will be equipped with Lexus Hybrid Technology joining the established Lexus RX 450h, GS 450h and LS 600h models. The LFA supercar will also be on display when the show opens on the 2nd March 2010.

3-Mode Drive System

The European Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe will make its world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March of this year offering sporty looks and performance, in a hybrid package. The CR-Z compact 2+2 coupe body offers the world’s first 6-speed manual transmission with a hybrid 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine, coupled to the Honda IMA hybrid system.

This package combination offers you CO2 emissions of 117g/km, a combined mpg of 56.4 and kart-like handling. The car also has a 3-Mode Dive System which allows you to choose between three driving modes to maximise enjoyment, fuel economy or a combination of the two.

The new hybrid will go on sale later in the summer and full vehicle specifications and prices are likely to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show.
