TomTom App for iPhone/iPad 1.9
TomTom has just released their new TomTom App for iPhone 1.9 which has also been optimised for an iPad as well. If you are an existing TomTom App customer you can download the new version to your iPad for free.
The iPhone 1.9 App has a higher resolution for a sharper display and an enhanced user interface to fit the larger screen, plus it is also compatible with Apple’s brand new iOS5. It also comes with a new map release including updated roads, the latest information on fixed speed camera locations and other points of interest.
The new full-screen display shows both the driving view and advanced lane guidance at the same time and you can also switch to driving view with one touch from anywhere within the app, plus access guidance options with a tap of the screen. You also get HD Traffic on this new app as an added-extra and the TomTom App for iPhone/iPad 1.9 costs £49.99.

RoadPilot Mobile
An innovative GPS speed camera locator has just been launched on iPhone from RoadPilot and is available off the Apple App Store. RoadPilot Mobile is available on a 30-day, trial basis for just £0.59 and thereafter on a monthly figure of £2.99, or annual payment of £14.99, or a three-year deal at £29.99.
The new RoadPilot Mobile App has a global database or more than 35,000 fixed speed camera locations and includes more than 5,500 in the UK alone. It is compatible with iPhone, 3, 3GS and 4 models and provides audio and visual alerts to all upcoming fixed and mobile speed camera locations, as well as reminding you of the speed limit at camera sites. The App also offers a real-time alert facility where users can also share with other members of the RoadPilot Mobile user community, locations of mobile speed checking locations as well

Park-Up app
If you have ever been out and have had trouble finding a parking space then a new service launched by Park-Up.com might be of interest to you. They are launching a new revolutionary car parking “space finding application” on the iPhone next week.
You just enter your location into your handset and you will then be directed to the nearest available car-park space or roadside parking spot in the vicinity. It also tells you how much it will cost to park and when local parking regulations are in force. Initially the system will only be available in London but the company is expanding to cover Brighton, Bristol, Sheffield, Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Milton Keynes, Birmingham and Bradford later this year.

Volkswagen has launched a new iPhone application about the Dakar Rally which is available free of charge. The application is called “Volkswagen Rally mobile – 2010 Dakar” and it will send you news,results and videos directly to your phone.

Smartnav on smartphones
Smartnav Mobile is now available on the most smartmobiles including the iPhone, Nokia and Blackberry, as well as Windows-based GPS mobiles.

Land Rover has now launched the Official Guinness Premiership iPhone app, providing the latest rugby news, fixtures,scores and results.

Honest John
Honest John, the leading independent motorist website, has launched a new service whereby you can download car road tests and videos via a free App to your Apple iPhone.
