Land Rover Discovery 4
The Land Rover Discovery 4 has just been named as the Best 4×4 in the 2011 Diesel Car Awards for the second year running.
Colin Green, Managing Director Land Rover UK, said,”We are thrilled to receive this award, doing so for the second year running shows that the Discovery 4 continues to hold a clear advantage over its market rivals”. Land Rover business car leasing is on the site now.

Trucks and Troops
The National Motor Museum at Beaulieu is playing host to Trucks and Troops from the 28th to the 30th May 2011. The show is being staged by the South Hampshire Area of the Military Vehicle Trust and will showcase the development of military transport, combat vehicles and soldiering through the ages.

There will be over 200 military vehicles on show from push-bikes, armoured and tracked vehicles, Jeeps, Dodges, Austin Champs and of course Land Rovers, to name just a few.
The vehicles range from pre WWII to the Gulf War and visitors can also watch a wide range of activities including a parade of vehicles and live action from Rolling Thunder, a Royal Marine Cadet Field Gun display plus various bands providing musical entertainment.

Range-e
Land Rover intends to use this year’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show to showcase hybrid technology as well as their new model line-ups. The Range_e is Land Rover’s diesel hybrid plug-in prototype, based on the Range Rover Sport, that features a 3.0-litre TDV6, eight-speed ZF automatic transmission with a plug-in diesel hybrid system.
The Range_e is the first 4WD model from Land Rover that achieves 89g/km of CO2, has a range of 690 miles (20 miles in EV mode) and has a top speed of around 120mph.
The new Range Rover Evoque will also be on show with both coupe and 5-door derivatives and comes in three design themes, “Pure”, “Prestige” and “Dynamic”. There are also a variety of different designer interiors and and option packs giving the opportunity to really personalise the car. 
In addition, two Limited Edition models will also be on show. The Range Rover Autobiography Ultimate Edition is the most luxurious Range Rover ever built with super-premium soft feel leathers and a yacht inspired teak finish. The 2011 Discovery 4 Landmark Limited Edition with Black and White themes will also be launched.

Land Rover Defender X-Tech Limited Edition
Land Rover has launched their new Defender X-Tech Limited Edition at the recent Brussels Motorshow, showing off its class leading all-terrain capability and raw, edgy style. The Defender X-Tech Limited Edition is available in Zermatt Silver with a contrasting Santorini Black finish to the roof and wheel arches. In addition, for the first time, the Defender is fitted with unique gloss black-inch saw Tooth alloy wheels to maintain the rugged look.

Inside the interior is available in Ebony with the addition of leather side bolsters for more support and a refined finish plus the model is also available in the 90 Hard Top Commercial derivative. Both are powered by the 2.4-litre common rail diesel engine offering excellent towing capabilities with its 360Nm of torque. The new model will be out in March 2011.

The ACEA economic report has announced that European total vehicle production in the EU rose by 15% in the first nine months of 2010, when compared to the same period in 2009. Car production rose by 13%, with vans expanding in all segments, in all three quarters as well.
The ACEA (European Automobile Manufacturers Association) was founded in 1991 and represents the interests of the sixteen European car, van, truck and bus manufacturers across Europe. The Association members include some of the major manufacturers, including the BMW Group, FIAT Group, Ford of Europe, Jaguar Land Rover, Renault Group, Toyota Motor Europe, Volkswagen Group and Volvo Cars to name just a few.

Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition
With the country covered in snow, you start to wonder “If only I had chosen a 4×4, but I wanted something sporty”. Well, Land Rover has just launched a new limited edition that “fits the bill” with the new Freelander SD4 Sport Limited Edition. This new unique addition to the Freelander 2 range has just been launched at the Bologna Motor Show and is available in three distinct colours- Fuji White, Santorini Black and for the first time, Firenze Red.
The exterior has been given a striking new look with a black finish to the grille and the side vents, a new body styling pack, rear spoiler, 19-inch Shadow Chrome alloy wheels, body coloured door handles and mirror caps, front and rear parking sensors and privacy glass.
Inside the interior is kitted out with Ebony Windsor leather with contrast Pimento stitch, or Ebony Napoli leather with contrast Windsor leather highlight stripe to the seats. The fascia is finished off in Piano Black with Ebony carpet mats with edging in Ivory or Pimento.

The Freelander 2 SD4 Sport Limited Edition is powered by a 190PS diesel engine which powers the car from 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds and onto a top speed where permitted of 118mph. The car is only available in automatic transmission and is compatible with 10 percent biodiesel too. Land Rover car leasing prices on this new model should be loaded soon.

A new global marketing campaign has been launched by Land Rover for the 2011 Freelander 2, featuring an animated character called Clay Mason. The campaign features a variety of animated characters driving around various different landscapes and terrains, to demonstrate the driving capabilities of the new SUV.
Phil Popham, Land Rover managing director said,”The Freelander 2 is Land Rover’s best selling model in the UK and the 2011 model year features a new, refreshed interior and revised interior. The Freelander 2 offers a class-leading breadth of capability unrivalled in the compact SUV segment and therefore we wanted to encapsulate this in an innovative film using cutting-edge animation for a global campaign”. Jaguar and Land Rover
Jaguar and Land Rover has announced that they have signed up as “Official Supporter” of England’s 2018 Football World Cup bid. As an “Official Supplier”, they will be supplying four Range Rovers, one Discovery 4 and four Jaguar XJs to assist the bid team with the FIFA inspections later this month.
Andy Anson, England 2018 World Cup Bid Chief Executive said: “Jaguar and Land Rover are premium British brands that are ideally suited to support our FIFA World Cup bid. At England 2018, we are committed to proving we have the qualities required to stage the world’s biggest tournament and to have the support of brands that are so recognisable across the entire globe is tremendous news”.

LRX Concept
Land Rover has announced its plans to introduce a 2WD option for the new compact Range Rover, that will offer CO2 emissions of just 13og/km, making it the lightest and most fuel efficient Range Rover ever. Phil Popham, Land Rover’s Managing Director said,”Land Rover will continue to make the world’s finest all-terrain vehicles for those customers who require 4WD but will also now offer an alternative to those that don’t.

Land Rover will also focus on launching the new diesel hybrid prototype, the “range_e“, which will use the existing 3.0-litre TDV6 diesel engine on a Range Rover Sport platform, with ZF 8-speed automatic transmission. They are aiming to achieve a range of 20 miles using electric power only, while emitting 100g/km of CO2 emissions, plus developing a top speed of around 120mph.
