New Audi RS 5 pricing and specification released

Tuesday, February 21st, 2012
Audi car leasing prices will be loaded shortly

New RS5

The new generation 450PS V8-powered coupe flagship, the RS 5, is enhanced by styling revisions, LED lighting updates, more efficient electromechanical power steering, more standard (and optional) equipment and is available now, priced at £58,725 OTR, with first UK deliveries beginning in April.

The new RS 5 Coupe certainly has impressive performance credentials with a 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds (previously 4.6), top speed electronically-limited at 155mph, MPG 26.9 (previously 26.2) and CO2 emissions at 246g/km (previously 252g/km)

It has had DVD navigation, Bluetooth phone preparation, cruise control and Audi Music Interface iPod connection added to its standard vehicle specification, with a new optional Sport Package added at £2,250, that includes Dynamic Ride Control, sports exhaust, dynamic steering and 20-inch rotor-design titanium-look alloy wheels

The  exterior styling updates include a slight revision to the grille design, a sharper and more pronounced bonnet, new wraparound LED daytime running lights and LED rear lights, new look front and rear bumpers and a new “10-spoke” design for the 19-inch alloy wheels.

Interior design changes include a new flat-bottomed RS three-spoke steering wheel and detail improvements to the air conditioning, Multi Media Interface, mirror adjustment and electric window switchgear, the gear lever and the instrument stalks.

Like all RS models, the RS 5 Coupe applies its power to the road with its quattro permanent all-wheel-drive, plus a sport differential is available as an option (the sport differential actively distributes the power between the rear wheels via two stages).

To cope with all that power, large, internally-ventilated wave brake discs with eight-piston callipers and a 365-millimetre diameter at the front, ensure incredible stopping power. Or, for especially committed drivers, carbon fibre-ceramic brake discs are also available at extra cost, as is the Dynamic Ride Control (DRC) system. Audi car leasing prices on the new model will be loaded shortly.

How much do you want to pay for personal car leasing?

Saturday, February 11th, 2012
Ford Fiesta personal car leasing is available now

CLICK for the Fiesta offer

When searching on the internet you can be attracted by some really low monthly personal car leasing rentals for the model of vehicle you are looking for. There are however a number of factors determining how much your monthly personal car leasing rental will be.

On personal car leasing (or personal contract hire as it is also called) the usual items to check are as follows;

  • Type of contract – is it with or without maintenance cover?  Without maintenance is usually less per month.
  • What is the annual mileage allowance on the contract?  The lower the annual mileage allowance, the lower the rental will be.
  • How long is the contract for i.e. 24, 36, 48 months….? Usually the longer the contract length, the lower the ongoing monthly rental.
  • Is the vehicle the most current model or an old stock model that needs shifting- hence the low rental?
  • Has the VAT been included in the rental you are looking at? Personal car leasing attracts VAT so look at the VAT inclusive rental.

However, the number one factor to look at is the amount of the initial rental as we have shown below.

Model and contract

Ford Fiesta 1.25 Edge 3-door hatchback on the following contract terms: with maintenance, three years, 10,000 miles per annum.  After the initial rental there are 35 subsequent rentals in all cases quoted below.

  • If you put a 3 months initial rental down the subsequent monthly rental is £200.66 including VAT.
  • If you put a 6 months initial rental down the monthly rental is £185.98 including VAT.
  • If you put a 12 months initial rental down the monthly rental is £162.24 including VAT.

So always check the amount of the initial rental when looking at personal car leasing. The above car is also on offer on Ford personal car leasing on a two year deal, 10,000 miles per annum, with full maintenance, 6 months intial rental followed by 23 rentals for £187.64 including VAT.

Nissan signs fleet deal with Bridgestone tyre company

Thursday, February 9th, 2012
Nissan Primastar van contract hire is on the site now

Nissan Primastar

Nissan has just signed a fleet deal to supply Primastar LCVs to Bridgestone, the world’s biggest tyre firm and is the latest transaction in a long-term partnership between the two companies.

Bridgestone selected the Nissan Primastar to join its current fleet of LCVs (light commercial vehicles) providing fleet inspection and tyre replacement services, in particular for First Group, Britain’s biggest bus operator running almost 8,000 vehicles.

Nichola Randall, manager responsible for fleet vehicles at Bridgestone UK, commented, “The three Nissan Primastars are used by the regional technicians who support the Bridgestone UK Bus Operations Team. The role of the regional technician is to offer cover and support to the UK-wide team of technicians while the vehicles will be used to carry light equipment for electronic fleet inspections and heavyweight equipment such as tyres and wheels. When making a choice of new vans for the fleet, we found the Primastar SE to have the best specification for the price, as well as being appropriate for the job.”.

The Nissan Primastar vans will be located at Bridgestone depots in Suffolk, Leicestershire and South Wales and if you are interested in leasing a new Nissan Primastar then we have Nissan contract hire rentals on the site now.

BVRLA comments on Government announcement on MOT frequency

Thursday, February 2nd, 2012

MOT frequency will remain at 3 years after date of first registration

The government has announced that it is going to maintain the current MOT test frequencies and concentrate on improving testing standards and cracking down on clockers, which is welcome news. The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) chief executive, John Lewis, commented as follows:

“The once a year after three years model works perfectly well for cars and vans as long as test centres do their job properly. Our only disappointment is that the government didn’t listen to our calls for safety recall notices to be made an MOT criterion. It is ridiculous that a car can pass its MOT while having an outstanding safety recall notification that hasn’t been dealt with.”

“We would also urge the government to go further in clamping down on clockers by introducing some sort of licensing system for mileage adjustment companies.”

Looking for a new 12-plate registration car? Order soon to avoid disappointment

Thursday, January 19th, 2012

Vehicle lead times and availability explained

If you are thinking of leasing a brand new car for the new 12-plate registration in March, don’t assume if you order now your new car will arrive on time. Vehicle lead time and availability will vary tremendously from manufacturer to manufacturer.

The more accessories you add to your car specification, may also cause a delay to your vehicle delivery (lead time). It can be so frustrating to spend hours deciding on the exact car you want, colour (both inside and out) and your bespoke accessories, to then be told that it is “16 weeks and a factory order”.

So if you are thinking of leasing a brand new car, order as soon as you are able, for your new 12-plate registration.

New Citroen DS3 Ultra Prestige is added to the range

Thursday, January 19th, 2012
Citroen contract hire pricing is on the site

Citroen DS3 Ultra Prestige

Citroen has just introduced the new DS3 Ultra Prestige to its UK range. The luxury, DS3 Ultra Prestige combines sophisticated style, a premium specification and the distinctive personality of the DS line range. It is powered by a sporty THP 155 petrol engine or a fuel and CO2 efficient e-HDi 110 diesel with Stop & Start. The latter offers you 74.4 combined mpg and CO2 emissions of just 99g/km so is ideal as a company car.

The DS3 Ultra Prestige’s front seats are fitted with ‘watchstrap’ design seat upholstery in ‘Club’ leather and also sport a ‘crescendo’ colour effect that is entirely new and unique. Inspired by the world of fashion, the colour of the leather on the front seats gradually changes from white at the top of the seat back to black on the seat base.

Inside the cabin, the dashboard strip is covered in ‘Alpine’ white leather and embossed with the distinctive DS signature. The white colour dials also match the white of the interior detailing, for that extra styling effect. Ultra-thick protective mats are braided with double top-stitching in contrasting colours, plus leather trim is also fitted to the door panels and central armrest.

The vehicle specification is based on DSport trim level and the DS3 Ultra Prestige is available with a choice of two exterior body colours – Polar White and Thorium Grey. The car features a sports spoiler, dark-tinted side and rear windows and 17” charcoal-grey alloy wheels. The‘Ultra Prestige’ graphic (that covers the model’s black roof with the DS insignia) provides a range of colour contrasts, shifting from matt to gloss as the light changes.

In addition to the DSport’s equipment specification (that already includes automatic digital air conditioning and a Bluetooth® enabled Hi-Fi system), the DS3 Ultra Prestige gains Citroën’s integrated MyWay colour satellite navigation system, rear parking sensors, automatic headlamps and windscreen wipers, electrically heated and folding door mirrors and an electrochrome rear view mirror. Features which are normally seen on a top-of-the-range executive car. Citroen contract hire leasing prices on the DS3 Ultra Prestige should be loaded soon.
