Lexus CT 200h F-SPORT

Lexus has announced details of an F-SPORT grade for their CT 200h full hybrid luxury compact car. The sports theme is reflected in new body styling elements that include a larger rear spoiler, flared side skirts, mesh grille and revised aero bumpers.

Outside the car also gets dark-finish 17-inch alloy wheels and electrically retractable electrochromatic door mirrors plus the suspension has been tuned for a more engaging drive, with the standard shock absorbers replaced with Kayaba dampers. Inside the cabin you get an F-Sport steering wheel with a flat bottom section and aluminium pedals and scuff plates.

The standard specification list builds upon the SE-L grade and in addition you get F-Sport black leather upholstery, heated front seats, electric driver’s seat adjustment and a rear-parking camera. As a full hybrid the C200h F-SPORT emits only 94g/km of CO2, returns 68.9 combined mpg fuel consumption plus it can also run for up to a mile in slow moving traffic on its electric power alone, with zero emissions. Lexus CT 200h luxury hybrid hatchback

The new Lexus CT 200h luxury hybrid hatchback has just been awarded a five-star Euro NCAP rating, scoring 94% for Adult Protection, 84% for Child Occupant, 55% for Pedestrian Safety and 86% for Safety Assist.

The WIL (whiplash injury lessening) front seats also contributed to the exceptional protection offered in a rear impact and the overall score for the car was 83%. The CT 200h also scored well for protection provided for both 18-month and three-year old children and is the only car in its class to feature driver and front passenger airbags as standard.

Lexus CT full-hybrid

The Lexus/GAZOO Racing CT full-hybrid has made its debut at the world-famous race circuit at Nurburgring in a gruelling endurance race. The GAZOO Racing CT has a higher-capacity 2.4-litre petrol engine (compared to the usual 1.8-litre in the CT200h), plus it features Lexus Hybrid Drive.

The race car uses just its electric motor at start up and under braking, producing zero tailpipe emissions and of course using no fuel. Harrods

The world famous luxury department store, Harrods, is the showcase for the new Lexus CT 200h with a four-window display from now until the 15th January 2011.

The presentation has been designed to show off the Lexus CT 200h and its sister RX 450h SUV, plus the other show units feature the latest Mark Levinson audio technology and a Lexas Lounge completes the display. The new Lexus CT 200h hybrid small luxury car has four driving styles moods that will match your driving mood. The Lexus CT200h car will be officially unveiled at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, from Thursday the 30th September in Hall 4 and this is the first debut car for Toyota in this sector.

The new car is powered by a 1.8-litre VVT-i petrol engine, an electric motor and an electrically controlled continuously variable transmission (E-CVT) and offers four selectable driving modes for a Dynamic or Relaxed driving character.

SPORT mode allows full exploitation of the CT 200h’s agile sports handling or there is ECO mode which delivers maximum efficiency. EV (electric mode) offers zero tailpipe emissions and NORMAL places the emphasis on a relaxed drive.  The look of the instrument panel also changes when you select a more dynamic performance changing from hybrid blue to red, plus the hybrid power meter changes to a tachometer.

Lexus CT 200h

Lexus has introduced innovative body engineering to give the new Lexus CT 200h sporty handling plus fuel efficiency for the luxury small car market. They have used front and rear lateral performance dampers combined with a body that delivers greater torsional rigidity, suppresses vibration and enhances the ride comfort.

The new CT 200h has been specifically tuned for European roads and aims to take on the BMW 1 Series and Audi A3, offering a sporty hybrid alternative. The driving mood can be changed by the selectable SPORT, NORMAL and ECO drive modes and the new car goes on sale in early 2011.
