Nissan Motor GB gets a new Managing Director

Nissan has announced that it is appointing Jim Wright as its new Managing Director for Nissan GB, taking over the helm from Paul Willcox who is now appointed Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing for Nissan in Europe. Jim is currently the European Vice President of Nissan’s luxury car brand, Infiniti.

Jim commented,”I’m thrilled to be returning to Nissan GB at such an exciting time for the company. No other company has such a diverse range and innovative product line-up, ranging from the all-electric Nissan LEAF to the GT-R supercar. The Qashqai is a top-ten seller in the UK, and total sales topped 100,000 last year. I look forward to maintaining this momentum and taking Nissan even further forward in the future”. Toyota Financial Services (UK) appoints new MD

Toyota Financial Services (UK) has announced the appointment of Doug Gillies as their new Managing Director with effect from the 1st November 2009. Mr Gillies replaces David Betteley who retired in October.

Mr Gillies worked in banking, early in his career, with Lloyds Bowmaker and also worked in the Lloyds Bowmaker/Toyota Finance joint venture before joining the new formed Toyota Financial Services (UK) PLC in 1998, where recently he was Operations Director.

Ichiro Kiyoshima, CEO and President TFS Europe and Africa Region said,”Under the leadership of Doug, I am confident TFSUK will continue to grow and will overcome the current difficult trading conditions facing our industry”.

BMW (UK) gets new MD

BMW announced today that Tim Abbott has been appointed as their new Managing Director in the UK and will take up his position on the 1st February 2009.

Tim who is currently Sales Director replaces Klaus Kibsgaard who is moving to new role within the BMW Group Sales and Marketing division. Tim first joined BMW in 1986 and has held several sales positions before joining Audi in 1996. He re-joined BMW, after a spell at Sytner, in 2006.

Ian Robertson, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG said ” Tim’s breadth of experience across this industry has proved to be a great asset in his current position and will be even more valuable as he takes over the leadership of BMW (UK).

Tim said ” I am clearly delighted with my new appointment. While the current business environment is tough, our exceptional brands and range of outstanding cars and motorcycles puts us in a strong position”.
