See the new fast, clean Volkswagen Polo GTI with pictures and details
Thursday, February 18th, 2010Volkswagen has released the details about the new Volkswagen Polo 1.4-litre TSI GTI which is set to continue the tradition from the original G40 Coupe of 1986. The new Polo GTI has a keen focus on performance with its supercharged 1.4-litre TSI engine producing 180PS and accelerating from 0-62mph in a remarkable 6.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 142mph.
Fuel economy is good at 47mpg on the combined fuel cycle and with emissions at 139g/km it is bound to appeal to a company car driver who wants good looks, great performance with an efficient engine too.
The TSI engine is linked to a seven speed twin-clutch DSG gearbox that channels power through the front wheels. The new car is also fitted with an XDS Differential system, an electronic traction control system, which is part of the ESP system.
The Polo GTI also gets a new front bumper with airdam and GTI badge plus optional daytime running LED lights, with subtle sill extension wraps around the lower edge of the body. At the rear the car gets a new bumper and chrome-tipped twin exhausts plus a GTI badge, replacing the Polo badge.
Standard features include 17-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers, flat bottomed GTI steering wheel with gearshift paddles, sports seats and aluminium pedals. The new Polo GTI will arrive in the summer and Volkswagen car leasing prices on this new model will be available around then.
