Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion equals 80.7 mpg and 91g/km CO2
Friday, February 19th, 2010The new Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion hatchback is now available offering a remarkable 80.7 mpg on the combined fuel cycle while only emitting 91 g/km of CO2 emissions. The secret behind this is the all-new 1.2-litre TDI three-cylinder common rail diesel engine coupled to an automatic Start/Stop System. Other technology to improve the efficiency of the car includes a longer gearing via the five-speed manual gearbox and regenerative braking.
The car also gets some cosmetic changes that also improve fuel economy, including bespoke bumpers, side skirts and an extended roof spoiler plus 15-inch “Greenland” alloy wheels with low resistance tyres.
Standard equipment includes manual air-conditioning, cruise control, ABS and four airbags, ESP (Electronic Stablisation Programme) and a leather steering wheel. The car accelerates from 0-62mph in 13.9 seconds and onto a top speed of 107mph. Volkswagen car leasing prices for this new model (three and five door) will be loaded shortly.
