SsangYong is continuing to build its UK dealer network with the addition of two new dealers, Hares of Rustington and Pat Kirk Ltd in Strabane.  The SsangYong UK model line-up is headed up by the new Korando which was created by Giorgetto Guigiaro of Ital Design, offering the brand a contemporary look for the European market.

The new Korando is powered by a Euro 5 2.0-litre 175PS diesel engine and provides excellent fuel economy and impressive CO2 emissions of 157g/km, making this one of the most powerful in its class. The Korando is being pitched against the Hyundai ix35, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan Qashqai and offers you five models to choose from. You also get the option of a 6 speed manual, 6 speed automatic and a choice of S, ES and EX trim levels.

Mitsubishi i-MIEV

Mitsubishi is planning to showcase a range of “intelligent” vehicles at the low carbon EcoVelocity motor show which is being held at Battersea Power Station in London, from Thursday the 8th to Sunday the 11th September. Its Intelligent Motion green vehicles will include the first pure-electric vehicle (EV), the Mitsubishi i-MIEV, plus the Colt supermini, the ASX compact crossover and the Outlander medium-sized crossover. Mitsubishi Concept Global Small

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation will be showcasing a variety of their latest models at the forthcoming 2011 Geneva Motor Show in March. The highlight looks to be the launch of their new Mitsubishi Concept Global Small vehicle based on the attributes of “compact”, “affordability” and “high fuel efficiency”.

This new concept will achieve excellent fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions in the mid 90g/km range and achieves this using some of the following;

• It uses an idle stop mechanism.
• The car has a 1.0-1.2 litre compact engine with a regenerative braking system.
• Weight has been trimmed from the most complex parts of the vehicle.
• The engine has reduced running resistance technology, new-generation CVT, brakes and tyres.
• An aerodynamic body style.

The other Mitsubishi models on show will include the i-MIEV all electric vehicle in European specification, ASX, Outlander, Pajero (Shogun in the UK), L200 pick-up, Lancer Sportback, Lancer Evolution and Colt. Mitsubishi contract hire prices can also be found on the current models on the site now.

ASX in police livery

Mitsubishi Motors has announced that it has been awarded preferred status in the 4×4 category for the Police Framework Agreement. The choice list includes the Shogun, the L200 Pick-up, the Outlander and new compact crossover, the ASX.

i-MiEV European spec

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is set to unveil the European specification all-electric i-MiEV, at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, which is being held at the Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles in Paris, from Thursday September the 30th to Sunday, October 17th.

The European spec i-MiEV will be rolled out across Europe from December this year, including the UK, and features a new design to the front and rear bumpers to meet EU regulations. In addition the car has a rearranged centre stack in the instrument panel and improved interior comfort.

Mitsubishi will be showing a range of 12 vehicles at the show, including the new ASX compact crossover, Lancer Sportback and the new Outlander 2.2 DiD mid-size crossover and you can find them in Hall 3.
