Kia has unveiled the Kia POP at the Paris Motor Show which is a three-seater, three-metre long electric car. The car has a striking overall look with its chrome features and purple colour scheme and the inside is like a capsule with its clean feel.

Audio, sat-nav, climate control and so on is controlled via a touch-screen while everything else operates from one button. The car emits zero emissions and has has a 50kW motor offering a single-charge range of 160k which is fully rechargeable in just six hours.

Peter Schreyer, Kia Motors Chief Design Officer said, “The POP doesn’t point at the style of the next generation of cars, but looks even further into the future. There are a lot of new things, for example the side-window graphic is like a signature, unique with its own character.

New Range Rover Evoque 5-door released later this year

The Managing Director of Land Rover, Phil Popham, has confirmed at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, that Land Rover will be producing a 5-door version of the Range Rover Evoque.

No further details are available at this time, however once further information is known about the full vehicle technical specification we will bring further details on this model.

BMW showcases a number of new models at the Paris Motor Show

BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe

BMW is launching a number of new models and innovations at the 2010 Paris Motor Show this week. One of the highlights is the new BMW Concept 6 Series Coupe, which is a design study for a 2+2 premium-class seater. This classic BMW coupe has flowing lines and sculpted surfaces and features full LED headlights and a newly designed, freestanding Control Display for the iDrive operating system.

The new BMW X3 will also premiere at the Paris Motor Show and for the first time comes with the Auto Start-Stop function, combined with a six-cylinder engine. This will also be the first BMW X model to feature electromechanical Servotronic steering as standard and in this segment, various options like Adaptive Headlights, Head-Up Display and the rear view camera with Top View are also available.

The BMW 5 Series Touring is now offered with additional engine variants and the M Sports package, plus the first all-wheel drive models, the BMW 535i xDrive Touring and BMW 530d xDrive are also launched. In addition the BMW 5 Series Saloon gets a new diesel unit (BMW 535d Saloon) plus the M Sports package is now available on Saloon models. BMW’s intelligent xDrive all-wheel drive-system is also available on the BMW 5 Series and all engine variants of the BWM 5 Series Gran Turismo.

BMW is also showing a preview of its “hands-free tailgate opening” which will be demonstrated on the new BMW 5 Series Saloon and Touring. This feature allows the tailgate to be opened by a specific movement of the foot and will form part of the Comfort Access option. Honda showcases new Jazz with IMA Hybrid Technology at Paris Motor Show

Honda is unveiling the hybrid version of their B-segment car, the Honda Jazz, at the Paris Motor Show. The Jazz will feature the same 1.3-litre i-VTEC engine that is in the Insight Hybrid and even though it is taller than the Insight, the Jazz Hybrid offers an estimated 104g/km of CO2 and a combined fuel economy of 64.2mpg, using its petrol-electric IMA system.

Although the Jazz Hybrid has an IMA battery pack, it retains its space with up to 831 litres of boot space and also retains its flexible Magic Seats. John Kingston, Government Affairs and Environment Manager, Honda (UK) said,”We think that a cleaner, more economical version of the Jazz will be a big hit with customers. The IMA hybrid technology is incredibly easy to use, owners don’t need to worry about plugging anything in to charge. It’s simply a case of filling up with petrol and driving on as normal”. The Honda Jazz Hybrid will go on sale in early 2011.

The Paris Motor Show will be the showcase for Infiniti, the luxury Japanese car manufacturer, in unveiling their Infiniti Performance Line G cabrio concept four-seater coupe-cabriolet. This stunning new car is resplendent in new Malbec Black, a pearlescent black with red hints and Monaco red leather interior, all finished off in the finest craftsmanship.

The cars boasts new 19-inch slit-rim 7-spoke graphite finish alloy wheels, a new bumper section and blacked out grille and headlight surrounds. Powering the car is a 3.7-litre V6 boasting 338PS and peak power is reached at 7000 to 7400 rpm. The car has a seven-speed automatic transmission and reaches 0-100 km/h is under 6 seconds and onto a top speed of 270km/h.

The sculptured side sill extensions work, with the bigger wheels, accentuates the sporting nature of this car and it certainly looks as good with the three-piece  roof up or down. A body-coloured bootlid spoiler completes the look at the rear and let’s hope this car is released into production soon. All other Infiniti models are available now on business car leasing.

Vauxhall has released interior images of the new GTC Paris, which will be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October this year.

The detailing inside the car includes driver’s seats trimmed in red with black highlights, while the front passenger’s seat has black trim with red highlights.

Each of the bucket seats in the front are bespoke to the GTC Paris and offers aggressively shaped contours to complement the car’s sporting look.

There is a small black leather steering wheel with metal inserts and on the dashboard, Vauxhall’s “wing” and “blade” motifs can be seen.

The new GTC Paris has been designed by Mark Adam’s design team and the concept has radical lines, yet is still close to a possible production model. The concept has been described by Mark as “bold, pure and iconic” and on these pictures you would have to agree with him. The GTC Paris also gives you a clue as to what the new 3-door Astra might look like as well.

New Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 185PS debuts at Paris Motor Show

Audi has announced that the punchy Audi A1 1.4 TFSI 185PS hatchback is set to be launched at the Paris Motor Show between the 2nd and 17th October, with UK orders being taken from late 2010.  This eagerly awaited flagship model has S tronic twin-clutch transmission and S line specification as standard, plus pretty impressive performance  figures too.

The car will reach 0-62mph in just 6.9 seconds, has a top speed of 141mph (where permitted), yet still returns 47.9 combined mpg and emits 139g/km of CO2 emissions. It employs both supercharging for low range boosting at around 1500rpm to increase thrust and disengaging at around 2,400rpm, with the turbocharger kicking in at 3,500rpm.

In addition to the S line exterior treatment you also get a generous level of other equipment, such as 17-inch alloy wheels, part-leathered sports seats, air conditioning, electric front windows and mirrors, Bluetooth mobile preparation, Driver’s Information System and a six-speaker single CD audio system with iPod connection. Although this new model is not on the site currently, all other Audi A1 car leasing prices on the rest of the range can be found now.

All new Renault Laguna models will have Euro 5 engines and lower CO2 emission including the dCi 110 which emits just 120g/km, which is 10 grams less than today.
