Peugeot RCZ "Asphalt"

Peugeot has opened their orders books for the new “Asphalt” limited edition Peugeot RCZ with only 75 RHD models being available in the UK, so you need to get your order in quickly if this is the car for you. The limited edition RCZ “Asphalt” has a special matt Telluric grey bodywork and features a bespoke high level of specification over the top-of-the-range GT trim, plus power comes from the spirited 200bhp THP petrol engine.

Standard specification includes a black roof, “Asphalt” badging, 19-inch Solstice black alloy wheels with matching black brake calipers, front and rear parking aid, auto lighting, Peugeot Connect Media Navigation, JBL sound system, ”Asphalt” branded and stitched Nappa leather trim, an Alcantara/leather steering wheel and gear stick, plus bespoke “Asphalt” sill covers and floor mats. The Nissan Juke has just been voted Continental Irish Car of the Year 2011 by the Irish Motoring Writers association. The award was based on awarding points on a wide range of criteria ranging from innovation and safety, to space, comfort, build quality, driving quality and value for money.

4. Continental Irish Executive/ Luxury Car of the Year- BMW 5 Series
5. Continental Irish Performance Car of the Year- Peugeot RCZ.

Peugeot RCZ

Two Peugeot RCZ’s have won a first and third in-class standing at the ADAC 24-hour endurance race at Nurburgring using Delphi Corporation’s virtually standard diesel fuel injection. The two Peugeot RCZs were competing against 197 vehicles, many of which had been highly modified for racing.

They ran in the D1T category for diesel cars between 1.7 and 2.0-litres and the key change to the standard engine was a boost in turbo boost pressure, lifting the torque from 340Nm to 400 Nm.  Standard Delphi charge air coolers and radiators, available in normal road cars, were also used making this an even more remarkable achievement.

John Fuerst, Delphi’s general manager, diesel engine management systems said,”This event has been called the ultimate durability test. Delphi successfully faced this test with production products on the RCZs that needed little or no modifications to perform this grueling race. We are delighted to have been selected as a technical partner for Peugeot and to have helped them achieve such an impressive result in the company’s 200th anniversary year”. Diesel Car Magazine has announced the winners of its annual car of the year awards 2010 with the Peugeot 5008 grabbing top spot as Car of the year 2010.

Experts at Diesel Car Magazine put over 275 different diesel cars through their paces to come up with the winners in ten classes. There were also three new awards this year- best crossover, best sports car and best eco car. The Awards issue of Diesel Car Magazine goes on sale in newsagents from the 12th May and the list of winners is below.

Peugeot UK is again sponsoring the UK’s three Taste Festivals this summer, in this its 200th anniversary. The Taste Festivals are the outdoor events for British foodies and are being held in London (17th to 20th June), Edinburgh (28th to 30th May) and Birmingham (16th to 18th July).

Peugeot has launched a new Peugeot Facebook page where automotive and rally car aficionados can get involved in discussions and new Peugeot initiatives.

The site features content about all the Peugeot models, plus videos as well as the latest Peugeot News.  There are some great images of the new luxurious Allure range, Peugeot RCZ Sports Coupe and highlights of Peugeots TV adverts.

Peugeot RCZ Coupe

The Peugeot RCZ Coupe has won the “Most Beautiful Car of the Year 2009″ award at the 25th International Automobile Festival. This is the fourth time Peugeot has won this award and the Peugeot RCZ was selected from votes cast by over 100,000 internet users.

The new Peugeot RCZ coupe will be launched in the UK in May of this year when Peugeot car leasing prices should be available.
