Subaru XV

The new Subaru XV is being launched with an eleven vehicle model choice, with prices starting at £21,295. The XV offers a generous equipment level across the whole range and also comes with Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and the brand’s famous Boxer engines.

The new XV has the highest Euro NCAP rating in its class and will be available in three trim levels: S, SE and SE Lux Premium. It scores particularly highly for child occupant safety and combines style and functionality with generous levels of standard-fit equipment. 

There are three Euro V Boxer engines on offer in the new XV, with a 1.6 and 2.0-litre petrol and 2.0-litre diesel.  The 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol engines develop 114ps and 150ps respectively, while the 2.0-litre diesel produces 147ps and the XV is available with a choice of either a five and six-speed manual or a six-speed CVT automatic (petrol only). 

Reaching 60mph in 9.3 seconds, the 2.0 diesel XV offers class-leading fuel economy of 50.4mpg on the combined cycle, while emitting just 146g/km of CO2, so this model is likely to be the best seller in the UK..  The entry-level S model features a standard kit list of ABS, traction control, Subaru Vehicle Dynamics Control (SVDC), front, side, curtain and knee airbags, 17-inch alloy wheels, daytime LED running lights and automatic air conditioning as standard. 

The SE model range adds cruise control, rear-view camera, Bluetooth functionality and USB/iPod connectivity, while the SE Lux Premium models also come with a sunroof, Keyless Smart Entry, push-button start, leather seats and satellite navigation.  All 2.0-litre models are fitted with roof rails.

Jaguar XF

Jaguar has just launched two new XF models, the SE Business and Sport editions and has also been voted ‘Executive Car of the Year’ by BusinessCar.co.uk

The SE Business comes with the new 2.2-litre Diesel 163 PS output engine and adds satellite navigation with seven inch touchscreen and HDD mapping to the standard specification, which includes intelligent start stop, a 400W sound system with DAB digital radio, leather and suedecloth seats and bi-Xenon headlights.

The Sport model is based on the more powerful 2.2 Diesel 190 PS engine and adds the full aerodynamic pack which includes a revised front bumper, a black grille element, side sill extensions, a subtle rear boot lid spoiler and a black rear valance.

The XF Sport also features half leather suedecloth seats, bond grain trim and a dove contrast stitch as well as electric driver and passenger adjustment. Piano black trim with ‘Sport’ decals on the centre console are matched with stainless steel foot pedals, plus heated front windscreen and front seats, a front parking aid, reversing camera and 60/40 folding rear seats.

Audi Q7 3.0 TDI 204PS

Audi has released the details of the new Audi Q7 3.0 V6 TDI 204PS lead-in model that offers you more luxury with more economy. The new Q7 3.0 TDI quattro 204PS model compliments the existing 3.0 TDI quattro 245PS versions and is available in Standard, SE, S line and new S line Plus spcification levels.

The new Audi Q7 3.0 TDI 204PS returns 39.2 combined mpg, has a CO2 emissions figure on 189g/km, reaches 0-62mph in 9.1 seconds and on to a top speed of 127mph where permitted. It combines seven-seat practicality with quattro four-wheel drive plus variable height adaptive air suspension for genuine off-road capability.

While there are four trim levels it is the S line Plus specification that gives you all that you would look for in a luxury 4X4 SUV.  Standard vehicle options on the S line Plus include metallic paint, 21-inch alloy wheels, Verano leather upholstery, privacy glass, hard disc-based navigation with Google Earth mapping, in-car Wi-Fi hotspot, iPod connection, powered tailgate and Audi Parking System Advanced with reversing camera and running boards.

Audi A1 Sportback

Audi has released details about their new Audi A1 Sportback which now boasts five doors and five seats for greater versatility and flexibility. The new five-door version of the Audi A1 subcompact car will be available to order later this month and has a premium of £560 over the three-door, with first deliveries expected in the spring of 2012. 

The A1 Sportback is six millimetres taller and six millimetres wide than the standard three-door Audi A1 and inside offers slightly more headroom and shoulder room as a result. It also offers three seats in the back which is great news for passenger comfort and each seat has a headrest and full three-point seatbelt. Luggage capacity is the same as the three-door Audi A1 at 270 litres, or 920 litres with the rear seats folded.

Audi A1 Sportback

The Audi A1 Sportback will be available with four advanced, ultra-efficient TFSI and TDI engines in the UK, namely;

• 1.2 TFSI petrol (86ps)
• 1.4 TFSI petrol (122PS)
• 1.4 TFSI twin-charge petrol (185PS)
• 1.6 TDI diesel (105PS)

If it’s fuel efficiency and lowest CO2 emissions you are looking for then opt for the diesel which promises 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions at just 99g/km. Audi is also planning to launch a 2.0-litre TDI (143PS) later in the summer.

New Volkswagen Polo Match

Volkswagen has added a new Match model to its popular Polo car range which now replaces the SE and Moda trim levels. The new Volkswagen Polo Match adds around £650 extra equipment but actually costs about £215 less than the outgoing models.

Some of the highlights include 15-inch “Castille” alloy wheels, front fog lights, heat insulating rear window, RCD 310 radio/CD player, multifunction computer, manual air conditioning, and Multi Device Interface (MDI) with iPod connectivity as standard vehicle specification.

Saab 9-3 Aero Sportwagon MY12

Saab has announced its pricing and specifications for their Saab 9-3 MY12, offering a refreshed exterior and interior styling with a generous level of standard of equipment across the range. There are also two new petrol engines and the new model year now offers the most powerful sub 120g/km diesel saloon and estate in its class.

All MY12 9-3 models come with automatic dimming mirrors inside and also outside of the vehicle,electric folding mirrors and automatic rain sensing wipers. This is in addition to alloy wheels, leather trimmed interior, heated front seats, park assist, six airbags, and Bluetooth phone integration.

The two specification levels are SE and Aero and the new fresh look is distinguished at the front by new front bumpers, “ice block” headlamps and a new grille. At the rear, all Saloon variants now get a boot-mounted spoiler. The two new 2.0-litre petrol turbo engines produce 163bhp and 220hp and both are available in six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The new 220hp 2.0-litre petrol turbo Aero Saloon and Sportwagon is now the most powerful sub 160g/km petrol engine on the market.

New Honda Civic 2011

Honda has given the 2011 model versions of the Honda Civic a refresh with a range of cosmetic enhancements for the new model year. The exterior updates include a new front grille, taking inspiration from the “Type R” model, which creates a more upmarket face for this popular hatchback.

There are also new allow wheels available with 16-inch rims on the Civic 5-door range in 1.4-litre  SE and Si, plus 1.8-litre SE trim. The five-door 1.8-litre Si now has the new 17-inch wheels.  The Type S gets colour-coded sideskirts and revised 16-inch alloys plus there is a new dynamic exterior colour available, called Ionized Bronze.

All-new Volvo V60

The all-new Volvo V60 sports wagon pricing and vehicle specification has been announced by Volvo Car UK and the car is available in four trim levels, plus a wide choice of petrol or diesel engines. The four trim levels are ES, SE, SE Lux and R-Design and prices for the range start from £23,145, for the 150PS T3 ES model.

Standard equipment is also generous, with the entry level ES models including Electronic Climate Control, Cruise Control, 5-inch colour screen as part of the new Infotainment system, Information Centre, floor mats, Passenger Airbag Cut-Off Switch, steering wheel remote audio controls, alloy wheels and leather steering wheel and gear stick. In addition you also get a six-speaker Performance Sound System, 16-inch alloy wheels and charcoal trim as standard.

The UK is expected to be one of the largest markets for the R-Design model with an expected uptake of 20%. The R-Design models feature more dynamic driving characteristics and enhanced styling than the standard cars.  Exterior upgrades include 18-inch alloy wheels, revised dampers, a 15mm lowered chassis, new front valance and twin exhausts. Inside, the car has driver and front passenger sports seats, an R-Design steering wheel, gear selector, sports pedals and floor-mats. New Volkswagen Touareg

Volkswagen has released the details of the new Volkswagen Touareg, with first deliveries into the UK expected in October. The entry level model is the SE 3.0-litre TDI 240PS (returning 38.2mpg) and other specifications in the range are Escape, Altitude, Altitude V8 and the Hybrid model, with all models featuring a new eight-speed tiptronic automatic gearbox.

The Hybrid model is powered by a supercharged 3.0-litre V6 TSI petrol engine developing 333 PS and an electric motor generating 47 PS. This 380 PS combination reaches 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds yet still returns 38.2 combined mpg with CO2 emissions at 193g/km.

Standard equipment across the four ranges is comprehensive, with the SE entry model offering you leather trim, touchscreen satellite navigation with DAB radio, six airbags, burr walnut interior trim, 2Zone climate control and 4MOTION four wheel drive as standard.
