Audi A5 Sportback 2.0 TDIe

The new generation midsize Audi coupe and Sportback models are now available with even more cost-effective TDIe versions and new specification making them an even more desirable package. The new 136PS and 163PS 2.0-litre TDIe versions of A5 Sportback are now available priced from £27,320 OTR and £27,825 OTR respectively, with the 163PS TDIe engine also available in A5 Coupe priced from £28,775 OTR.

Performance figures for the TDIe engines is impressive as follows;

  • A5 Sportback 2.0 TDIe 136PS six-speed manual – 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds, top speed 132mph, combined MPG 64.2, CO2117g/km
  • A5 Coupe 2.0 TDI 163PS six-speed manual – 0-62mph in 8.4 seconds, top speed 140mph, combined MPG 64.2, CO2115g/km

There is also a new SE Technik specification available for all four-cylinder TDI models in both body styles that saves up to £1,925, compared with specifying additional options individually.

In both the A5 Sportback and A5 Coupe models, all the four-cylinder TDI engines can be combined with a new, highly cost effective SE Technik specification which was first seen in the A4 Saloon and Avant ranges. The Technik specification adds DVD satellite navigation, Audi Music Interface (AMI) iPod connection, the Audi Parking Plus system with front and rear sensors and cruise control to the familiar SE equipment list.

The SE specification in both models already includes 17-inch alloy wheels, Milano leather upholstery, three-zone climate control, Bluetooth mobile phone preparation and a colour Driver’s Information System (DIS), which is pretty generous. Both TDIe engines are available allied to Standard, SE and S line trim in the A5 Sportback, and Standard and SE in the Coupe and we should have Audi contract hire prices loaded shortly.

Audi has just announced that a new biturbo V6 TDI engine will enter production, to power executive class Audi models to 62mph in a fraction over five seconds and returns up to 44.1mpg. The new advanced new biturbo TDI engine heads the diesel line-up in the A6 Saloon, Avant, allroad quattro and A7 Sportback ranges, with OTR prices starting from £43,810.

The car also comes with a sound actuator in the exhaust system that generates a “petrol engined” sports car exhaust note, to match the remarkable performance.

The new BiTDI engine is available in conjunction with SE and S line specification in the A6 Saloon, A6 Avant and A7 Sportback. Highlights that are common to all these models include satellite navigation linked to a 6.5-inch retractable colour monitor, Milano leather upholstery, the Audi drive select adaptive dynamics system controlling throttle response, transmission shift points and steering feel, the Audi parking system plus, light and rain sensors, cruise control and keyless go push-button engine ignition.

Inside the cabin, changes include new colour schemes and trims, revised switchgear and a new online service option that brings Google Earth mapping, plus in-car internet access. The full range has been detailed below plus the CO2 outputs of the new cars where known. Audi car leasing on the new A5 2012 Model Year range will be loaded shortly however there are still existing A5 models available.

Vorsprung Durch Technik – Audi celebrates its 40th anniversary

Friday, June 3rd, 2011
Audi contract hire prices are on the site now

Audi NSU range

Audi has just celebrated the 40th anniversary of its famous “Vorsprung Durch Technik” brand which advertising agency BBH brought to life back in 1971. It translates as “advancement through technology” and this perfectly encapsulates what the Audi brand stands for now, just as it did 40 years ago.

The Audi NSU range with its rear-engined air-cooled NSU 2-and 4-cylinder cars, the iconic Audi Quattro, the Audi 100 and the NSU RO80 rotary engined car are just some examples of the brand in action.

Today Audi has 32 models in its line-up with innovations like their TFSI engines, lightweight Audi TT (aluminium and steel hybrid bodied) all-LED lighting, head-up displays, Google mapping functionality plus the all-aluminium R8 as examples of Vorsprung Durch Technik. If you are interested, we have Audi contract hire prices on all 32 models on the site now from Sportbacks to SUVs or Hatchbacks to Avants .

Audi car stock availability is generally low

Audi A3 Sportback

Audi A3 Sportback

When thinking about ordering your new Audi you may take several weeks to make your mind up. Finally you decide on the model, colour, final vehicle specification and your Audi car leasing finance partner. Then, the next question is how long will it take to be delivered and this is where you may find you may have  a long wait before you get your new car.

On checking general availability for the Audi range, which is a popular make on the site, the stock position amongst one of the major dealer groups is generally low, with only the Audi TT range offering better availability. If you are faced with waiting for a factory order here is a rough idea of how long this might take (courtesy of the Inchcape Retail Group, one of the UK’s leading  car dealership chains).

Current Factory Order Lead Times

Audi A3 Cabriolet – 14 weeks

Audi A3 Hatch and Sportback – 12 weeks

Audi A4 – 14 weeks

Audi A5 Cabriolet, Coupe and Sportback - 18 weeks

Audi A6 – 18 weeks

Audi A8, Allroad and Q5 - 14 weeks

Upgraded Audi A3 2.0TDI gets even cleaner

Audi A3

Audi A3

Audi has introduced their fuel start-stop recuperation system into the A3 range with the Manual A3 140 PS 2.0 TDI three-door, five-door Sportback and Cabriolet models being the latest to benefit. The economy improvements also offer reductions in CO2 output of at least 19g/km, an efficiency saving of 16 per cent.

The start-stop system cuts engine power when idling and the clutch is released with the gearlever in neutral. Depress the clutch pedal and the engine starts in just two tenths of a second. The recuperation technology provides further fuel and CO2 savings by recycling a proportion of the wasted kinetic energy which is created as heat when braking. The energy created is stored in the battery to reduce the engine load when the car subsequently accelerates again. Audi car leasing prices on these models will be available shortly.

AUDI UNVEILS THREE NEW MODELS AT FRANKFURT

Monday, August 31st, 2009
Audi S5 Sportback

Audi S5 Sportback

Audi is planning to unveil three new models at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The three models are the Audi S5 Sportback, The Audi A4 3.0 TDI quattro and the Audi A3 1.2 TFSI.

Audi S5 Sportback

This new model is the top of the Audi A5 range and this elegant five-door coupe is powered by a three-litre V6 with a mechanical compressor. The car sprints from 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds (provisional), has a top speed of 155mph and offers combined fuel economy of 29.1mpg (again provisional).

The car has a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission and quattro permanent all-wheel drive as standard equipment. The car has sports suspension, 18-inch aluminium wheels with 245/40 tyres, black brake calipers bearing S5 emblems at the front and will be available in the Spring of 2010.

Audi A4 3.0-litre TDI clean diesel quattro

The new clean diesel engine was first seen in the Audi Q7 SUV and is now available in the A4 range. The engine features a new common rail injection system with innovative pressure sensors in the combustion chamber, plus a high performance exhaust recirculating system. These three measures ensure a highly efficient and low emission combustion process.

The A4 3.0 TDI clean diesel quattro already complies with the emission limits of the EU’s Euro 6 standard, which is expected to become law in 2014. This TDI engine reaches 0-62mph in only 6.2 seconds (Avant 6.3 seconds) and has a top speed of 155mph. The six-speed tiptronic and quattro permament all-wheel drive system should guarantee a high degree of comfort and safety, with its superior traction on the road.

Audi A3 and A3 Sportback 1.2 TFSI

This new 1.2 TFSI has been designed from scratch and the turbocharged direct petrol engine generates 105PS and reaches 0-62mph in 11.1 seconds in the three door hatch and 11.3 seconds in the Sportback. Both versions have a top speed of 118mph, can return 51.3mpg on the combined fuel cycle and emit just 127g/km of CO2. The first versions of this car will be paired with front-wheel drive and a six speed manual transmission. Audi is the most popular manufacturer on Comparecontracthire.com and car leasing prices on all their other range of models can be compared now.

Scirocco stock is low

Scirocco stock is low

Don’t assume if you order a car or van in a few weeks, that the vehicle of your choice will be available as a stock vehicle. Factory order lead times can range from  8-16 weeks, depending on the make and model. For example there is low stock of Volkswagen Scirocco and Audi A3 hatchback and sportback so you need to place your order as soon as possible, otherwise you may have a long wait.
