Mitsubishi Lancer Juro 1.5 special edition

Mitsubishi has announced the details of the Lancer 1.5 Juro special edition model, which is based on the the current Lancer 1.5 GS2 but the new car comes fully loaded with the following high level of standard equipment.

This new model also has a range of safety features including an advanced dual front airbag Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) with occupant sensors, standard front seat-mounted side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags, driver’s knee airbags and has a 5 star Euro NCAP rating.

Citroen DS3 Racing

Citroen has announced full details about the eagerly anticipated DS3 Racing, with customer orders being taken from the 1st September 2010. The DS3 Racing has an impeccable sporting pedigree having been developed by Citroen Racing, the winning team behind five WRC Manufacturer’s titles.

Powered by a specially tuned 1.6-litre THP engine, it produces 207hp, has a top speed of 146mph, a 0-62mph of just 6.5 seconds and takes 26.5 seconds to the 1,000 metre mark, from a standing start. Standard equipment includes automatic digital air conditioning, Bluetooth with USB connectivity and an eight-speaker hi-fi system. Citroen has also added some new features to the DS3 Racing like S.ESP (Switchable Electronic Stability Programme) and Citroen eTouch Assistance System.

There are two colour options available namely Obsidian Black pearlescent body (and Sport Orange roof) or Polar White body with a Carbon Grey roof which can all be matched to the alloy wheels, door mirrors, chevrons, grille surround, tailgate spoiler and dashboard fascia. Hyundai has recently won three new fleet contracts in the North West with an average fleet size of over 100 vehicles. The first company, Liverpool based Educate and Training, added nearly 80 cars to its fleet. Their fleet manager,Malcolm Swift said,”There are lots of reasons why we chose Hyundai. The long warranty was a big one and price. But not just list price, it’s the good whole life costs and the fact you get a lot of equipment as standard that you’d have to pay extra for, from other brands. The CO2 figures are very good too and that means they’re good on benefit-in-kind taxation for our drivers”.

The two other companies were PWG Holdings which operates four businesses in Warrington who are ordering 80 cars and Runcorn based Select Security who are adding 100 Hyundai’s to their fleet. Hyundai contract hire prices are on the site now.

New Porsche 911 Turbo S

Porsche is set to launch their new Porsche 911 Turbo S at the Geneva Motor Show and promises to raise the bar with stunning performance figures. The new top model has a power output of 530 hp, accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds, yet remarkably the combined mpg is 24.8.

The top speed of the car (where permitted)  is 196mph and the car comes with the seven-speed Porsche double-clutch gearbox, which conveys power to the all-wheel drive system. Standard equipment includes Dynamic Cornering Lights, 19-inch RS Spyder design wheels, adaptive sport seats, Thatcham Category 5 Porsche Vehicle Tracking System, cruise control, a CD/DVD changer and exclusive two-tone leather upholstery in Black/Creme or Black/Titanium Blue.

The car goes on sale in May 2010.
