The new Skoda Superb Estate is launched with great trim levels

Superb Estate

Superb Estate

Skoda has launched their new Skoda Superb Estate which is set to become the most practical and luxurious car ever, to wear the winged arrow badge. Trim levels and engine choices will match the Superb hatchback with S, SE and Elegance models available, along with the same engine line up, all with direct-fuel injection for optimum fuel efficiency, performance and low CO2 emissions.

The Superb Estate’s boot, the biggest in its class, has a series of neat additions such as a pair of lights built into the tailgate to illuminate not only the load bay but also the area around the rear of the car. A third LED light can be removed and can also be used as a torch, which is a great idea on those dark winter nights. All models are fitted with roof rails as standard, to help with carrying a load if the cavernous boot of 633 litres with the rear seats up (or 1,865 with them down) is not enough capacity for you.

In petrol their are three engines namely, 1.4 TSI 125bhp, 1.8 TSI 160bhp (manual or 7 speed DSG, 4×4 is also available). In diesel the three engines are a 1.9 TDI 105bhp, 2.0 TDI CR 140bhp with DPF (manual or DSG) or a 2.0 TDI CR 170bhp with DPF (manual or DSG, with 4×4 also available. The car goes on sale in the UK in February 2010 and Skoda car leasing prices for this new model will be loaded on the site shortly.

Skoda expands GreenLine brand

Saturday, June 13th, 2009
Octavia GreenLine

Octavia GreenLine

Skoda, the Czech manufacturer, has now expanded the popular Octavia range with a new GreenLine version. The GreenLine uses a new manual 1.6 TDI CR engine and joins the Fabia and Superb in offering drivers a more economical, greener car.

Impressive CO2 emissions of just 114g/km makes this model likely to be popular with fleet operators and their company car drivers as it offers CO2 emissions well below the new 160g/km tax threshold , recently introduced in April 2009. The common rail diesel engine offers many advantages such as quieter running, fewer moving parts and greatly improved performance with a wider range of torque and power.

Christopher Horrell, Product Marketing Manager at Skoda comments, ” It is in the interest of every fleet operator to consider both Skoda’s GreenLine range and new diesel engines as they are designed purely and simply to reduce impact on the environment which, in turn will lower fleet running costs”.

Skoda Superb voted “top gadget” by Sky Motoring

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

The new Skoda Superb has been voted “best gadget” by Sky Motoring. The innovative Parking Assistant used by Skoda, was preferred to BMW and Renault, in the motoring website’s annual awards.

The judges at Sky commented ” It sounds destined for a slot on “It’ll never work” but we tested it several times and shock horror, it actually works”.

The Parking Assistant system is available as an option on all models of the New Skoda Superb and uses a set of ultrasonic sensors placed at various points on the car. These sensors then judge whether a space is large enough to be parked in and also helps in the parking manoeuvre as well. Once the spot has been chosen you engage reverse and the car parks itself. All you need to do is control the speed. The options costs from £350.

This award , for the New Superb, is also added to Caravan Club’s “Towcar of the Year 2008″ so Skoda clearly has a winner.
