Citroen DS4 5-door coupes

Clear Channel UK has just taken delivery of its first Citroen DS4s as part of a single badge agreement with Citroen, for the supply of its fleet cars. They are one of the UK’s market leaders in outdoor advertising and chose Citroen as part of their commitment to reduce CO2 emissions.

Their vehicle order included new DS4s, new C4, C4 Picasso, C5 Saloon and C5 Tourer, with a combination of HDi diesel engines or the ultra-efficient e-HDi micro-hybrid powertrains with Stop & Start. The DS4 e-HDi models have Citroen’s six-speed EGS automated manual transmission as standard and return 64.2 combined mpg and emit 114g/km of CO2. Citroen contract hire is on the site now for the whole range of cars and vans.

Glenn Ewen, Fleet Manager for Clear Channel UK, said: “In each price band Citroën has a choice of three or four models and using a single supplier cuts down on paperwork. It also reduces work for our drivers as they don’t have to compare models from a variety of manufacturers. With these new Citroen cars our drivers certainly appreciate paying less Benefit in Kind tax than they did before.”

Toyota Avensis car production

Toyota has started car production of its brand new Avensis at its Burnaston plant, which is Toyota’s largest production site in Europe. This brings some welcome news for the British manufacturing industry and will secure many jobs for the future.

The new Toyota Avensis was unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year and builds on the practicality and spaciousness of the old model, with a contemporary, sharper new design, a quieter cabin and better driving dynamics. The top-selling 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine has also been improved to offer lower CO2 emissions (as low as 119g/km) and better fuel economy.

New Toyota Avensis

The new Avensis is launched in T2, TR and T Spirit saloon, with prices matched to that of the outgoing model and there is a small decrease in the price of the T4 models. Hyundai i40 Saloon

Hyundai has announced the full pricing, specification and insurance group ratings for their all-new Hyundai i40 Saloon which goes on sale from the 5th January 2012, with the entry level model starting from £17,395 on-the-road.

With its low “Benefit in Kind” (BIK) cost in class for diesel derivatives, great looks and high specification, this new saloon car looks set to be popular with company car drivers.

The Hyundai i40 Saloon will be available in the same three trim levels available on the i40 Tourer (Active, Style and Premium) with a choice of two efficient engines, three power outputs and manual or automatic transmission. Hyundai has also fitted its Blue Drive technology (including Intelligent Stop & Go) as standard on all Active derivatives and on the Style 1.7 CRDi 136PS Blue Drive and the Premium 1.7 CRDi 136PS Blue Drive model, which offers you CO2 emissions at just 119g/km.

The list of standard features is comprehensive and includes 16-inch alloy wheels, Bluetooth connectivity with voice recognition, leather steering wheel with audio controls, electric heated door mirrors with integrated LED indicators, electric front and rear windows and an electric parking brake with automatic hold function on all models in the range.

Safety systems include ESP (Electronic Stability Control), ABS, Hill-start Assist Control, VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), Brake Assist and Emergency Stop Signal and every model also gets seven airbags as standard (front, front side and curtain). Hyundai car leasing prices for the Hyundai i40 saloon will be loaded in due course. 

New Toyota Avensis Tourer

The new Toyota Avensis has just made its world debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show and this third-generation model has been substantially revised. It has a bolder, more refined exterior design, with daytime running lights and the new Toyota family “face”, plus there have also been significant improvements to the finish quality and comfort in the cabin for both the Saloon and Tourer models.

The 2.0-litre D-4D diesel engine has also been revised and offers a company car driver an attractive CO2 emissions figure of 119g/km, or there is also a 1.8- and 2.0-litre petrol engine on offer. All cars have a six-speed manual transmission and some can be specified with a six-speed automatic transmission with Toyota’s Multidrive S continuously variable transmission with steering wheel mounted paddle shifts.

New Toyota Avensis Saloon

The new Toyota Avensis is packed full of safety features with ABS, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TC) and Vehicle Stability Control (VSC+) as standard. In addition you can also get an Advanced Pre-Crash Safety (PCS) system as an option, plus Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning and Lane Keeping Assist available as well. New Mercedes-Benz B-Class

Mercedes-Benz has released the details of its new B-Class compact sports tourer that will be officially unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 in September. The new B-Class has a much more agile and efficient style and its lower height and more upright seat position portrays a sportier look.

The new B-Class has a new four cylinder petrol and new diesel engine on offer too. Initially, the petrol option is a 1.6-litre for the B 180 (122 hp) and B 200 (156 hp) and the diesel is a 1.8-litre unit, mounted transversely for the first time. The B 180 CDI generates 109 hp and the B 200 CDI has an output of 136 hp.

Mercedes-Benz is also launching their new 7G-Dual clutch transmission in the B-Class, which features an electronic oil pump for start/stop capability and also shifts gear without any interruptions in tractive power, combining the smoothness of an automatic with the efficiency of a manual transmission. The new 6-speed manual transmission also offers easy manual gear shifting.

The new B-Class has outstanding aerodynamics setting a new benchmark in the sector and features PRE-SAFE, a radar-based collision warning system as standard, together with Hill Hold Function, ATTENTION ASSIST and Active Parking Assist. The new B-Class should be available in the UK from March 2012.

New Citroen C5

Citroen has updated their stylish C5 Saloon and Tourer with new model cars being available from the 1st November. The new model year gets a new LED light signature, darker tinted rear light clusters, re-homologated engines and Citroen’s new eTouch Emergency & Assistance System.

The engine range is now fully Euro 5 compliant with CO2 emissions starting from as low as 129g/km and combined mpg as high as 56.5.

The C5 Exclusive models now have as a standard option, the eTouch system which automatically or manually makes emergency calls, plus monitors your vehicle’s maintenance requirements and provides advice on fuel economy online, via the MyCITROEN personal space. Vauxhall has launched an Insignia ecoFLEX model, to their Sports Tourer range, offering sub 140g/km CO2 emissions and 53.7 combined mpg. The car still retains the impressive 2.0-litre CDTi diesel engine, as seen elsewhere in the range and sprints from 0-62mph in 9.3 seconds and onto a top speed of 134mph.

It has a great torque range, producing 380Nm with overboost. which allows it to pull well in high gearing. The car gets modified front air inlets and two under-body spoilers to reduce drag and lift and to add to the aerodynamic style of the car. Low resistance tyres and aero fins complete the package.

New Sports Tourer

Renault has just launched a new Megane Sports Tourer with deliveries starting in November. The 21 model range is the latest car to appear in Renault’s UK showrooms and comes with new engine and transmission additions.

The four new additions are a 1.4 TCe (Turbo Control Efficiency) 130, 2.0 CVT 140 (Continuously Variable Transmission), 2.0 dCi 160 FAP and 2.0 TCe 180. Models are available in Expression, Dynamique,TomTom Edition and Privilege trims.
