Honda Mileage Marathon winner beats official mpg figure
Monday, May 17th, 2010Honda recently challenged six company car fleet drivers to swap their high mileage cars for a month for the Honda Insight, to see if the Honda hybrid car could reduce their overall fuel costs. The winner of the trial recorded 63.6mpg in their Honda Insight, beating the official economy figure of 61.4 mpg.
The winner of the trial was E-ON company car driver,Ray Hadlington who usually drives a Vauxhall Zafira Diesel. He managed to improve his typical fuel economy by over 10mpg which saved around £50 a month in fuel bills. He commented,”Driving the Honda Insight was really no different from driving my Zafira, but the dashboard graphics reminded me to ease off the accelerator a little more than usual”.
The Honda Insight has CO2 emission of 101g/km and sits in the lowest 10% Benefit in Kind (BIK) band. Mr Hadlington went onto say,”The Benefit in Kind cost saving is probably the hardest element for me to ignore”. Honda contract hire prices for the Insight are on the site now.
