Perodua Myvi

Perodua, the Malaysian car manufacturer, has just released details of two new special edition Myvis models, the Myvi Jet and Myvi Sport Silver. The Myvi Jet gets chrome door handles, side mouldings with stainless steel capping, and “Myvi” motif, remote central locking and 10-spoke 14-inch alloy silver wheels. The Myvi Jet is available in ebony black in either manual or automatic transmission.

The Myvi Sport Silver has the same vehicle specification as the Myvi Sport but gets a stylish body kit and side mouldings, chrome door handles and interior carbon finishes, plus 10-spoke 15-inch titanium alloy wheels. The Myvi Sport Silver, as its name suggests, is finished in glittering silver paintwork.  

Both cars have a high standard level of specification and this includes air-conditioning, power steering, four-electric windows, electric door mirrors and a radio/CD player.

New Volkswagen Polo Match

Volkswagen has added a new Match model to its popular Polo car range which now replaces the SE and Moda trim levels. The new Volkswagen Polo Match adds around £650 extra equipment but actually costs about £215 less than the outgoing models.

Some of the highlights include 15-inch “Castille” alloy wheels, front fog lights, heat insulating rear window, RCD 310 radio/CD player, multifunction computer, manual air conditioning, and Multi Device Interface (MDI) with iPod connectivity as standard vehicle specification.

Audi Q3 SUV

Audi has released the pricing and full vehicle specifications for their eagerly awaited Audi Q3 SUV, with first orders being taken in June and first deliveries expected in November this year. There are four engine derivatives available all with direct injection, turbo-charging and start-stop, namely the 2.0 TFSI 170PS, 2.0 TFSI 211PS, 2.0 TDI 140PS and the 2.0 TDI 177PS.

The efficient 2.0-litre TDI 140PS front-wheel drive model offers 54.3mpg capability and is likely to be a company car driver favourite. Other features in the range include new generation MMI navigation plus, online Bluetooth car phone with access to Google services, WLAN connectivity, Audi drive select with efficiency mode and parallel and perpendicular park assist. Colt Juro special edition

Mitsubishi has announced a new Colt 1.3-litre Juro special edition model that comes with a high level of standard vehicle specification. The new Colt Juro special edition is based on the current Colt CZ2 and comes with the following comprehensive list of standard specification;

New Volkswagen Cabriolet

Volkswagen has released the first images of their new Golf Cabriolet in advance of its launch at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show next month. The Golf  Cabriolet has been around since the MK IV and has had around 1.42 million sales around the world to date, so this new model is an important car for the brand.

The new Golf Cabriolet has an electrically-powered soft-top that opens in around 9.5 seconds, including on the move at up to speeds of 18mph. The new model will also offer you an efficient range of petrol and diesel engines, when launched in the UK.

The trim levels on offer will be S, SE and GT and all will have a high standard of vehicle specification. This is likely to include 16-inch alloy wheels, electric soft-top, DAB radio, Bluetooth, ABS, ESP and airbags all round.

There are three engine choices at launch- 1.2-litre TSI 105PS, 1.4-litre TSI 160PS and a 1.6-litre 105 PS TDI.

Later in the year Volkswagen will add three more – 1.4-litre TSI 122PS, 2.0-litre TSI 210PS and a 2.0-litre TDI with 140PS. All models will have Volkswagen’s BlueMotion Technology modifications applied and the first deliveries should be in time for the new September registration plate.

Vauxhall Astra ES Tech

Vauxhall has announced a new high-specification value-for-money Astra model called the Astra ES Tech. This new model has been targeted at rivals from Ford and Volkswagen and offers standard equipment not usually seen outside of the cost options list.

Starting at £18,110 for the 140PS 1.4-litre Turbo model, the new ES Tech features a CD500 Satnav system (including CD player, MP3, USB, iPod control, seven speakers and aux-in socket), Bluetooth, DAB radio, 17-inch alloy wheels and aircon.

These extra vehicle specifications are in addition to standard Astra specification such as ESP, daytime running lights, cruise control, curtain airbags and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. The Astra ES Tech is also no slouch as it gains an extra 18PS from its 140PS engine, offering you a 0-62mph time of 9.0 seconds and a top speed of 126mph.

For diesel drivers, the engine is the 125PS 1.7 CDTi version offering sub 120g/km CO2 emissions, fuel consumption of 62.8mpg, 0-62mph time of 10.7 seconds and a top speed of 122mph.

Hyundai Veloster

The new Hyundai Veloster three-door coupe was unveiled in Detroit at the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and this dynamic new car takes its inspiration from the original concept car launched at the 2007 Seoul Motor Show. The new Veloster differentiates itself from the traditional coupe design by its unique three-door configuration, which includes a rear door on the passenger side for easy access to the spacious interior. The car also has a hidden exterior door handle to ensure the coupe design is maintained.

Hyundai Veloster

At the front the Veloster has the signature Hyundai hexagonal front grille plus athletic wheel arches and a distinctive glass hatch at the rear, finished off with centre mounted exhaust. The Veloster will be powered by the 1.6-litre four-cylinder GDI petrol engine, including the company’s first six-speed double-clutch transmission.

Lexus CT 200h

Lexus has released the prices and vehicle specifications for their Lexus CT 200h luxury full hybrid which will be available in three equipment grades – SE-I, SE-L and SE-L Premier. This luxury full hybrid emits only 94g/km of CO2, offers you 68.9 combined mpg and on-the-road-pricing starts from £23,485 for the SE-I (VAT at 20%).

The Lexus CT 200h SE-I has dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, 17-inch alloy wheels, push button start,wipers and LED daytime running lights as standard options.

Additional standard features on the SE-L (£25,200 OTR price) include leather upholstery, heated front seats and front rear parking sensors.

On the SE-L Premier (£30,635 OTR price) add LED headlamps, cruise control, smart entry system, electrically adjustable front seats, 13-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, HDD satellite navigation, Lexus Remote Touch multi-function control and rear parking monitor. Peugeot 508

Peugeot has released the details of the new Peugeot 508 which will be launched in 2011. The new design look is based on the SR1 concept car, will be available in Saloon and SW body styles and will benefit from e-HDi and HYbrid4 technology.

The new car has a stylish “French chic” exterior and the interior of the car promises hi-tech innovation, quality materials throughout, a high standard vehicle specification, great interior and boot space and all models will offer low CO2 emissions too.

The range of engines will benefit from Peugeot’s new e-HDi stop and start system offering up to a 15% reduction in economy and the HYbrid4 will offer 200bhp performance with all-wheel drive and emissions of just 99g/km or zero in electric mode. The two versions of the new Peugeot 508 will be unveiled to the public at the Paris Motor Show in October and will go on sale at the beginning of 2011.

Nissan Juke SUV

The new Nissan Juke looks set to shake up the small car sector, offering a compact SUV crossover alternative. The price and specification of this new model range has now been launched by Nissan and offers two and four-wheel drive options, in a choice of three engine options. The Juke will now join the existing Nissan crossover range of Murano, Qashqai and Qashqai+2 with the entry level model available from only £12,795, which is likely to provide a competitive contract hire rental.

The three engine options start with a frugal 1.6-litre 117PS petrol engine or a 110PS 1.5-litre dCi diesel, with the top of the range Juke featuring a new 190PS 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol option. Three specification levels will be available, namely Visia, Acenta and Tekna, with the entry level Visia offering 16-inch alloy wheels, ESP, six airbags and air conditioning as standard.

The Acenta model adds 17-inch alloy wheels, climate control, Bluetooth with USB connectivity and the Nissan Dynamic Control System (central command module). Two option packs can be added to the Acenta, either a Sport Pack or Premium Pack. 

The ultimate Juke will wear the Tekna badge and the vehicle specification includes leather upholstery, Nissan Connect, a reversing camera, Intelligent Key with engine start button and much more. The Juke should be available to order on Nissan contract hire in June, with the first deliveries likely in September for the new registration plate.
