Roads with a View

A new book, written by David Corfield, has just been released by Veloce Publishing and details England’s greatest views and how to find them by road. Inside you will find superb landscape photography of all the areas covered, the best places to stay and eat with clear and concise maps of each route covered, including details of “secret views” which are off the beaten track.

The book is available in all good bookshops, the Veloce Publishing website or from the RAC website and includes information for everyone -driver as well as passengers, as you seek out England’s famous landscapes. Some of the areas featured include the narrow and winding road through the Langdale Valley, Hartland Point beside the Bristol Channel and Blackpool Mill Cottage to name just a few.

Electric Cars

The renowned automotive publisher, Veloce Publishing, has teamed up with the RAC, one of Britain’s oldest motoring organisations. The first books released in the arrangement are “Electric Cars- The Future is Now!” by Arvid Linde and “The Efficient Driver’s Handbook”, by Dave Moss , which offers fuel efficient driving techniques.

Velocette Motorcycles

Veloce Publishing has launched a brand new large format hardback of Velocette Motorcycles -MSS to Thruxton (New Third Edition) which costs £39.99 and is available at all good bookshops and newsagents. It is a comprehensive record and technical analysis of Velocette motorcycle development from MSS tourer to Thruxton racer between 1954 and 1970, and is written by Rod Burris.

It contains practical hints to keep your Velo going and Veloce Publishing has also one signed copy by Rod Burris to give away. All you have to do is answer a simple question – “What was Rod Burris’ first Velo model?”. You can find the answer on the Veloce YouTube Channel where Rod is interviewed. New iPhone app

Veloce Publishing has released a new iPhone App called VW Golf GTI -The Essential Buyer’s Guide. The new app costs £2.39 and is available at the App Store.  The app includes 18 sections ranging from cost considerations to common problems and has been written by authors Richard Copping and Ken Cservenka.

There are many colour photos available and the informative text has written by experts with the novice in mind. The app is compatible with iPhone and iPod touch and requires iPhone OS 3.0 or later.

Bluebird CN7

Veloce Publishing has released a new book written by Donald Stevens, which is the inside story of Donald Campbell’s last Land Speed Record car. The book charts the design and construction of the fastest of the Bluebirds, the Campbell-Norris 7 (CN7), which is now resident at the National Motor Museum at Beaulieu.

It features the operation of the land-speed record breaking car, is packed with 142 photographs, drawings and speed graphs, costs £24.99 and is available from the Veloce website or from all good bookshops. The author, Donald Stevens, will also be signing copies of the book and selling DVDs of CN7′s record runs at Brooklands Fete Champetre 2010, on June 26th.

Alpine and Renault

Two new books by Veloce Publishing called Alpine and Renault -The Sports Prototypes -Volume 1: 1963-1969 and Volume 2: 1973-1978 are now out retailing at £34.99 each, at good bookshops and online at the Veloce website.

The books tell the first time story of the Alpine Sports Prototypes, narrates the story of the first designs and looks at racing on the World sports car scene in the 1960s and 1970s. Matra sports cars

Veloce Publishing has released a new book charting the origin and history of the legendary French firm that launched various Matra sports cars between 1966 and 1974 to challenge for the World Sports Car Championship.

The book contains a complete history and development of the Matra protoype sports cars for this period and has many rare and unseen photographs of the cars in action, a full list of the races in which these cars competed, plus a brief profile of the works Matra drivers from the same period as well.

The author is Ed McDonough who was born in the USA but lived in the UK and France for many years. He raced saloons, sports cars and single seaters from the late 1950s and has a wealth of other vintage racecar experience. The books costs £15.99 and is available now from Veloce or any good bookshops.

Speedway

A new historical book has been launched by Veloce Publishing, that looks back on the history of eight abondoned race circuits in the USA and Europe, packed with stunning new photographs. The author is SS Collins, who at 16, grew up within sight of the Crystal Palace Race Circuit and has been widely involved in sport ever since.

Speedway tracks

Around the world there are a number of long forgotten raceways that are now abandoned and derelict from the NASCAR heartland of North Wilkesboro and Middle Georgia to the European speedways at Monza and Brooklands. The book features many pictures (186 colour and black and white) of the speedways in their heydays and also today. It costs £35.00 and should be available at all bookshops or via the Veloce website. Anglo-American Cars

Veloce Publishing, known for the “Those Were the Days“…. series has now released a book detailing British cars powered by American engines and American cars fitted with British power plants, all built between the 1930s and 1970s. Written by Norm Mort, the book features period literature, road tests and is must for any motoring enthusiast.
