Formula 5000

If you fancy a trip down memory lane then a new book by Veloce Publishing is beautifully illustrated with pictures and recalls the days when Formula 5000 racing cars roared around the racetrack with their 5-litre engines.

Formula 5000 was launched in 1969 and the forty years anniversary is celebrated in the book, charting the highs and lows of the top ten drivers and the cars they used. The book is written by renowned motoring author, Derek Lawson and features 200 high quality photographs, many of which have been previously unpublished.

Triumph Stag

The Triumph Stag combined the performance of a V8 engine plus the smooth design by Giovanni Michelotti and is a classic car icon. The book costs £9.99 and features 100 previously unpublished photographs of the model for both the European and North America markets.

Tales from the Toolbox

A new book has been published by Veloce Publishing ,written by motorsport writer and historian Michael Oliver, which details behind the scenes stories and anecdotes from Grand Prix mechanics, for the period 1950s to the late 1980s.

“Tales from the Toolbox” features a foreword by Sir Jackie Stewart and provides an insight into the realities of life as a Grand Prix mechanic, as told in their own words. The book features 50 rare photographs from the mechanics’s own collections and is available at £12.99 in all good bookshops or via the Veloce website.

40% of the royalties of the book will also go the Grand Prix Mechanics Charitable Trust.

Toleman story

The story of Toleman has now been told in a new book from Veloce. This small, unfashionable and short of money company, was the team that launched Derek Warwick, helped Rory Byrne ( the Ferrari’s design genius) and Pat Symonds, Renault’s race tactician, to construct his career.
