Swap a car lease or van leasing
If you send the car or van back to the lease company before the contract end you will be liable for an early termination charge and perhaps excess mileage and fair wear and tear (damage) on the vehicle as well.

The two companies agree a date when the lease is to be transferred (assigned) and who is making the payments while the transfer is going on with the lease company. There also has to be agreement on who has the liability for any excess mileage if this is stipulated on the lease agreement, and finally who has the liability for any damage to vehicle (fair wear and tear). At the end of the contract if there is big dent on the bumper for example, the lease company will send the leaseholder a bill for refurbishment, or for the amount they think the vehicle resale value will be reduced by, as a result of the damage.
